Beautiful Blaze Freshly Waxed (Lots of pics! = No 56k!)

Post by 03sxt » Sat Jun 09, 2007 2:42 pm

Well, since I'm broke, I can't do the Zaino treatment I've been wanting to do, I busted out the Mothers California Gold paste wax that I've never used and buffed the piss out of her this morning. It turned out pretty damn nice!

Let me know what you guys think!

Yeah, that really stuck out to me, too, in this set of pictures. I need to try to find a small steel ball that will fit on there after I cut it down, though to retain the OEM look. I saw an article on here somewhere about what to use, but I can't seem to find the damn thread.

Maybe if I PM JonnyMopar, he would have an idea... He's a metal guy.

Looks great!

The key isn't fancy waxes and sealants, although they help a bit, the key is prep, clay, polish, then wax, you won't believe the difference it makes.

Nice tires too, I'm rocking the exact same ones, 205/40-17, FZ4's.

Thanks, man! Yeah, I couldn't seem to locate the remainder of my clay bar, but I'll probably buy a new one here in a month or two and re-do everything in August or so. Maybe then I can get it all done right. This was just a wash, wax, and buff.

As far as the tires, yes, I love them! They're fairly sticky, too.

Looks awesome! I like how you blacked the rear, and also the front bumper underneath the lip. Can't wait to see it in person! 8)

Your car looks great Mike! That color looks really nice, its one of my favorite neon colors. Actually...I tihnk all the colors are my favorite sometimes

but metallics ftw :) they look much more attractive w/ a good wax job.

Is it hard to wax aroudn the cudas?

You can remove the stock ball off the antenna with vise grips and a rag. Then once you cut it just smooth out the end and hit it back on. I did it for a few friends.

First off... Thank you! :D

Actually, I wax right over the 'Cudas. The hard part is getting around the edges of the 'Cudas... You know the annoying wax buildup lines around decals and trim, etc that you get. I just use a Q-Tip and rub lightly around them to remove the wax buildup.

Hmm. I might go out and try that... Like right now. Thanks!

Those are the 'smoked' sidemarkers unless you're talking about the 'JDM black' ones that I used to have... The spray tint is fading big time on them and my taillights, if you couldn't tell. The JDM black ones I got rid of a few months ago to 'blazesxt'. I'll be buying new ones in a couple weeks, though, as soon as I get my fire department paycheck.

I'm going to give Dave a few bucks while down in Carlisle and confiscate his can of Nightshades to do my tails over again... This time the correct way.

I can tell your tails are lighter...mine did that too from when I tinted mine last summer. I need to redo mine, this time w/ a better clear this summer.

Yeah, I also used that crappy thin spray window tint instead of the good Nightshades stuff, which I figure helped it fade. I don't want black, though, I just want a decent smoked look, so I might only do one or two shades of the Nightshades. :-k

I think I did like 4 coats on mine...I didnt want them completely black, just a nice smoked look, so right now they are perfect on mine (just need a better clearcoat).
