Hmm why didn't you just cap that hose barb on the intake instead of putting a little filter on it? You're just drawing in hot air there (not that it's a big deal).

Was thinking the same thing before I even saw your post. Why put a air filter on your intake that already has one.

.... Usually those are for crankcase ventilation on the valve cover.

When I bought my K&N Typhoon coldair intake, it came with a metal mounting bracket to hold the TB in the right position... uses the same mount locations as that side of the airbox.

I've tried to keep the engine bay area at least reasonable on every car I've owned; however, up in these parts after driving around a few times in the winter slop the underhood mess is back.
I'll be back under the hood in the spring to get it cleaned up again, but by no means will it be spotless... not much point in trying to achieve the spotless look considering it is a daily driver and not a trailered show car.
