yea c'mon chevy can't give away the ssr, why make another vehicle for a portion of the market that noone buys cars in?

they would sell alot of them especially to compete with the mitsubishi eclipse and any other small block coupe plus to bring back a sporty affordable coupe to the market i hope they decide to produce it afterall...

It was designed to kick the Miatas ass and end it's reign of terror as THE lightweight RWD sport coupe on the track. The thought was a lot of SRT-4 guys would switch to the Demon rather than the Miata to compete in this class of racing. Of course, just as with the SRT-4, contingency dollars and Mopar backing would help teams to develop and race them. But last I heard there are no plans for production.

I still think that an SRT version of the SlingShot would have been interesting. Just not with the three cylinder engine.
