Wheel and tire combo
Wheel and tire combo
Are there any picture posts here with wheel and tire combinations??
If not could we start one, I'm about to get some new wheels for the beater, and would like to get some ideas.
Can I get wheel and tire size, weight of both(if possible),offset, suspension drop and setup???
I just wanna see pics, Thanks

In order... and excuse the wheelgap in all the early pictures!!!
Stock wheels were Silverstones, 16 x 6., 18 lbs each, 40mm offset.
Tires: stock sized 195/50/16 Goodyear Eagle RS-A's (sucked), replaced by Goodyear Eagle F1 (yellow lettering and SUCKED).... then some Kumho Ecstas (more on that later)...
I traded these for 14" steelies off of a 1g for the wintertime. These wheels on the 1g looked AWESOME.
Then I got some 5Zigen Copse. 17 x 7.5, 35mm offset, 23.5 lbs each. Filled out the fenders by far the best because of the low offset... gave it a nice, wide stance.
Tires: Kumho Ecsta 205/40/17. Very cheap (~$53 ea), last about 6,000 miles the way I drive--but I love these tires. Went through 2 sets.
Painted the lips red when the clearcoat started to peel off and I got sick of polishing them:
After that, Konig DTD Glide Limited Edition (only avail. in flat black and egg gold). 17 x 7, 22.6 lbs each (cast), unsure on offset, seller originally said 42mm but I think they came in 35mm or 45mm.
Tires: Nitto NT555 in a 225/40/17 (the only tire avail in that size). LOVED THOSE TIRES. Used them up during a fullday at the roadcourse. Replaced them with Nitto NeoGens in a 215/40/17 size (trying to go wider than a 205), they were ok, very very grippy at first, and then I think I heat cycled them with burnouts and they became harder. Replaced those with a cheapo tire from NTB, triangle talons, and that ultimately lead to me losing control in the rain and wrecking 2 of the rims.
When I got them they were bronze because the seller had painted them. I rocked em for a while then painted them like this:
I still have these but 2 of them need repair. These were the rims that I ALWAYS wanted, and finally got, then messed em up.
I've got the Centerlines Storms on as of now.
17 x 7, 14 lbs each (forged), 40mm offset, come in full polish, I painted mine.
Tires: When I was out at Tire Rack for One Lap of America, I picked up some Bridgestone RE-750's because they had a rebate. Eh, they're alright. I think I'll either go with Kumho Ecstas next time or go full-out R compounds....
:EDIT: Just noticed you wanted suspension specs as well.
Until I got the Glides, I was on stock suspension. From the glides on, I was on Mopar Stage 2 Coilovers, lowered alot in the rear (2 threads left on strut body), and a good amount in the front (.5" of threads left). I am riding on stock RT struts in the front and SXT struts in the rear right now (no height difference, just stiffness) with Kazera springs from Tire Rack ($50):
More pics of current ride height here:

The tires aren't quite filling out the wheel wells how I like, and I can't lower it anymore like I could on coilovers. My plan is a nice sticky 225/45/17 tire next time around, which will be soon

Ah yes, and there's more that you can't see as far as the transformation goes lol.khronus wrote:^^^ wow, that's some transformation your car has been tru, although I must say I didn't dislike any of your wheels my fav are the 5zigen and the centerlines
Funny thing about the 5Zigens. I didn't really like them when I saw pics of them.. but I wanted wheels so I bought em for $700 with tires from a friend... and I liked them as soon as I mounted em! I liked them more with the polished lip, also but it was such a PITA! Sold them for $350 but the kid never paid me the rest.. still owes me $150.
I really like the Centerlines, too. They have a 1 year luster warranty, but I wanted to paint them black chrome so I got the expensive paint and slightly scuffed the surface of them and by just doing that the paint didn't turn out black chrome, it turned out gunmetal. I was pissed. Oh well--whatcha gonna do lol. I got them on sale for $99/ea when the normal price is $199/ea.

17x7 ASA em9 (40mm offset) sitting on some 215-40 toyo proxes
Megan Springs = 2 inch drop
Weight of Rim =21 lbs
Weight of tires = 20lbs
Combined weight with air = ~43lbs per corner
drive train weight from rims and tires is around ~86lbs, which is 6lbs more than stock srt rims and tires.
if I’m not mistaken that’s like adding 60lbs to the cars weight which will slow down the vehicle in the quarter mile by about 0.006 seconds, and make the stopping distance increase by 8ft from 100mph-0mph...
not to mention minuscule increase of wear and tear on the vehicle which lower the life expectancy by around 2%... blah blah blah..
hope thats enough info on my setup for you!
Rims are always a matter of personal taste.
some like a lot of spokes, some like less.
some like curvy type rims with big lips,
some like straight lines and flat face..
just depends!!!

^^^those are nice, and u right rims are a matter of personal taste, my taste calls for lightweight first and looks second, also the wheel tire combo must fill the wheel wells and so far the look I like best is 17x7 with 45 series tires, I'd like to see some 16s and 15s that can fill the wheel well just as nicely as the 17s

typically a change of 100lbs in dead weight = a change in elapsed time of ~.1 seconds. It is a general rule of thumb for drag racing. It does vary depending on the car, but typically 100lbs = .1
also, adding weight in the form of wheels, rotors, etc is different than adding dead weight.
