Well guys it has been some time since I last posted a nice "long" thread. But I have been working on my Sub enclosure and I have been pressed on time due to the show this Saturday. I still have a lot to do before it is considered as "done" but I can only do what I can in the time I have. The enclosure is false floor setup where the floor is elevated a few inches and the tire well is used as space as well. Well here are some pictures of the progress and I will post more as we get to our deadline.

Decided to change the sub placement to inverted placement:

Bondo put onto enclosure which is where we stopped as of last night:

we are thinking of putting about 6 hours of work into it tonight which will get us either finished or close to being finished which can get done tomorrow. But I will keep you guys posted.

Just info for you guys:

Two amp racks will be flush mounted behind the wheelwells. The sloped down part to the sub will be white wrapped vinyl along with the dome on the back side of the sub. Everything else will be black carpet. I will have a white "M" for mopar in the very front in white vinyl. With 7 color LED's that match the flash pattern of my underbodies and my interior lights.

Updated pics:

We had issues with the heat not working with the contact cement, so the cotton backing fell off of the vinyl but we got it to work. We line the wheel wells with the carpet and got the amp rack made. Along with getting all the wiring done. We feel that will finish today and then just work on the presentatin looks. Here are the Pics:

Well we finished the box last night at about 2am. Still have lighting to do and change the wireing layout. But you get the idea of the layout now. This setup I have to say is crazy loud and I and going to keep it down on about half volume on my head unit. As soon as we turned it on last night and played for about 30 seconds the rearview mirror fell off.. I have to take out my rear deck speakers due to the sub providing so much pressure on the back side of the 6x9 speakers that they will blow in a couple of days. So on with the pics:

I don't know much about subs, so... why the inverted direction?

Regardless that is coming together nicely.

Thats what I would think. You are essentially making your trunk the box.

I think thats the reason by the 4x10's mounted under the rear deck of my monte were so loud.

Great! I tuned it some more and it has great sound quality as I wanted to acheive over loudness. The response of the sub is outstanding for a 15.

As far as reasoning for the inverted sub.....it gives the box a small amount of airspace back into the box since you don't have the displacement of the sub to mess with. There isn't really a sound difference between standard mounting and intverted mounting. As to what racer12306 stated......if you had your subs mounted in your rear deck.....that is considered infinate baffle mounting. The hole trunk would turn into a box. This method is hard to acheive and work well. It isn't impossible, but hard to get right as you have to seal off everything. Also you have to get a sub that is capable of being mounting as a infinate baffle. Hope this answers your questions.

To answer a few other questions, when you invert the sub, you also invert the polarities. (positive and negative) so it essentially pushes air back and forth like it would if it wasn't inverted.

Make sense?

Very true, thanx for pointing that out. A lot of people don't know that. I have seen so many people mess their subs up due to not wiring them right.
