2GN two-door coupe?

Post by Arro » Sun Sep 23, 2007 3:12 pm

I had heard somewhere that someone has managed to customize a 2GN, and turn it into a 2-door coupe. Can anyone provide more info on this (or pictures)?

Thanks.

That might be photochoped. Just look at the 2nd hood scoop. Looks like it was drawn in. Not too bad, but that spoiler is ugly

Photoshop or not... it isn't bad, but the door size all wrong for a 2-door as it needs to be a little larger.

:withstupid:

The door is DEFINITELY not long enough. Looks whacked. And looks photochopped. But I had heard that there was indeed a car that had been converted to a 2-door coupe, with custom longer doors. I'm hoping someone will know something. I'm not even sure how to seach on here for something like that.

looking at that from a bodywork standpoint, the IS a photoshop. i don't care what anybody says, like Opi said, can you say welded shut hood? and as danman said, the 2nd hood scoop is drawn on for sure, actually more of a copy zoom and paste, as is the hole in front of the front wheel. you can tell that it's digitally lowered by looking at the clearances on the front wheel, look at the back wheel, i've never seen a body kit that covers the back 2" of a wheel. and lastly the window where the rear door is there's no trim on the back portion.... IT'S JUST DOWN RIGHT UGLY!

It is 100% fake. There are a few more different ones that floated around. Look at the headlights too.

yeah... this is the version that I have... which seems to be a little more "realistic" whether it's photochopped or real, the wheel base does look a little bit smaller to the point where the isn't room for a back door
Image

And I also have this... is any one would like to try this. It's a 2gn sitting on a Toyota frame

i think it's funny when people weld the rear doors shut.. yea that makes it a coupe

WRONG.. that makes you an idiot with no way to get to the back seat.

Its a photochop obviously, but still, a very good idea of what a 2nd Gen coupe could have looked like...

someone should try to make a 2dr 2gn, a shop has already able to make a evo 2dr so i guess a neon shouldnt be hard.

the only thing that makes it hard for the neon i guess, is its more curved roof.

The red R/T is great but it needs to lose the thick blacked-out portion of the B-pillar from the (now erased) rear door.

One of the professional drivers at the SRT Track Experience that I went to last October told me that he had once seen a real Chrysler design studio 2GN coupe prototype but wasn't impressed with the looks.

our doors swing out wide enough now, could you imagine if they were as long as a coupes door would be. you'd have to get out of the car to close them

I always thought is was bad decision to drop the coupe in 2000.
That is why I orginally bought a then new 99 Expresso coupe since the 2gn wasn't offered as one.

Hmm the red one looks nice, but I also agree the door is a little too long. The photochopper arteest should re-chop it juuust a bit shorter.

I think the door is the right length, I think that the 2nd piece of B Pillar molding needs to be removed, and the little piece of trim at the back window should vanish too.
