This is Jason's that was chopped by lilolneon a while back:

Image
That's pure sex.

I'm thinking that the rear doors would have to be welded in place and smoothed in.The center pillar between the two doors would have to be cut out, shortened in height, and moved back and welded. The front doors would have to be cut down the middle top-to-bottom, and extention sheet metal welded in and shaped and smoothed.

But it could be done. The question is how sturdy would the car be after that? Show only, or could it be viable for handling? Would it compromize the structural integrity, or could that be an opportunity to *improve* it?

You could/would cage it after that.

I've seen 2nd gen's with the back doors welded and glassed in at Nopi shows. Is that what your talking about?

welding the rear doors and not completely taking the car apart to make it more Coupe like is stupid.

Why Weld the rear doors. Its not a coupe when you do this. Its a sedan with welded rear doors. Great job on fucking up a normal car.

I agree, if they did something like the black car pictured above, that would be cool, because they would be extending the front doors and definitely taking it apart to make it more like a coupe as you say. But not just welding the doors. Sounds like something for rice-boy.com.

Really?

Cause that was one of the biggest complaints about 1st gens. Was the wind noise and water leakage that came with the style of window.

And if the back end of that Yellow one didn't look so Civic ish I would like it. Maybe something more along the lines of an A3 hatch or perhaps another...

I actually like that hatch version, I would love to drive a 2 dr hatch neon, I think it would kick booty. I think this is the problem with dodge now, is they do not have any sort of small compact car in the form of 2dr, 3dr(hatch), 4dr, and 5dr(hatch) to compete with honda, ford, chevy, toyota - nada. Oh well.

yea i think the problems that all the cars are big and bulky now
the smallest thing they offer is the avenger, or the caliber
nothing small like the 1st gen neons

I've hit my head on the corner of the door so many times. it hurts like hell.

I just like the style of no window track on the door. I have wind noise now and my friend's WRX does not so I don't think it would be that much of an issue to fix.

:laughing3: I've done that so many times, especially when parking in a tight spot, and trying to sneak my fat ass out of the car. It does hurt like a mofo. :banghead:

an srt convertible would have been nice, but those hood vents messed that pic up.

The door is to short for a coupe. :laughing3:

Everytime I look at the 2007 Honda Civic coupe it pisses me off that the 3rd generation Neon didn't look like that instead of that F***ing Caliber.

I owned my 1GN for eight years and 121K miles and never had problems with wind noise or leakage. Guess I was lucky.
