You didnt buy that from Inflame did you? If it is my buddy sold him that car. Had alot of problems but he fixed most before he sold it to him. It was in 2 or 3 accidents from a local girl driving it.

NYG= Nitro Yellow Green

Yes, actually I did buy it from Inflame. Anything else I should know about the history? 0_o

I did carfax it and it only showed one minor front end accident.

Well my friend bought it like the pic i sent but fixed it to the condition you have it now and Inflame bought it. A girl owned it before and had a front-end accident. My buddy replaced the core-support thats why its black. He bought new hood, bumper, and few other body pieces. He did alot of mech work to it so that it drove straight and rode nice. He is very picky about how his cars run (my ACR's old owner). Its not bad but has a bad history and Inflame to me wasnt very mechanically inclined. He should have told you the history being a fellow Neon owner.

Here is a pic of when the girl owned it before it was smashed

My friend bought it like this.

Thanks for telling me the history I wasn't informed about... Anything else I should watch out for?

I'm going to be tearing into the engine bay and looking into that battery light that's on. You buddy wouldn't want to work on it some more would he? Haha. I need to get the timing belt/water bump changed... could use a new paint job. Of corse, you already know this.

And it's a SOHC 5spd. (Dunno what tranny that is. Not muc of a tranny guy.)

Its got a 3.55
Ill ask him tomorrow what else he knew about it. He is a manager at a Belle Tire so they did all the suspension work. He did what he could with that car but he owned 4 neons at the time and that was just in the way

...You're a grade A ass. But it looks like you have a sunroof.

However, yours will be on the road alot sooner than mine will be, and its probably in better condition.

How much did you end up paying for it?

Actually, it IS on the road and I drove it for an hour and a half no problems today. :D

The sunroof is aftermartket, and the final price is in the first post.

$1,780

Oh, and thanks alot SlvrACR. I don't know shit about first gens yet, but the more I know what was wrong with it, the more I can go over things and make sure it's all done right and proper. :D

There is a local pick and pull that gets NYG parts in all the time. If you need other stuff ill keep an eye out. Thats where he got the hood from

New trunk would be nice... i hate spoiler holes, and grill piece is needed... new bumper maybe. Haha, this is just supposed to be my winter beater too!

Outside of that, i haven't had a huge look at the car yet. Just a quick scan over. Tomorrow is when it goes up on the jack stands.

battery light could be the battery temp sensor.. its a common thing, it might be missing or it might be bad.

Didn't know if first gens had those too. I know my SXT does, but my roomates 2000 plymouth and the girlfriends 98 highline both don't have them.

I'll check that first then. :D

all 1gs have them, they are actually in the battery tray near the battery hold down bolt, unlike 2gs where its in the battery blanket.

checking CEL codes are the same as 2g as well, cept you have to count the flashes of the check engine line, no fancy code readout.

flash pause flash flash = 12
flash flash flash flash flash pause flash flash flash flash flash = 55 aka code read out done.

you'd be surprised what is the same or similar between 1g and 2g. with that said 95-02 sohc's are for the most part the same thing, just different valvecovers/manifolds. 03+ are different thanks to the NGC crank.

2g seats bolt right in to 1gs, theres a few people with 2g dashes in their 1g..etc

Oh so the battery sensor is just in a different place on the 1st gen... I do know -most- of the similatities between the two cars, I just have no real hands on experience.

My my I can't wait to get off work and play with her. :D
