Nitto Invo's... (56K Warning!.!.!.)

I decided to try out this new tire, and going from little tiny 215-40R17 proxes fz4 rubber bands, i can't believe the diffrence between night and day.

I decided to go wider and taller, to a 225-45R17, which might also account for the performance diffrence, as well as the riding quality.

To tell you the truth i don't even know how i lived with the proxes, they were horrible tires compared to these Nitto's.

Even brand new, and not broken in, they outpreform the fz4's in every way possible. Not to mention they make 2nd gear useful again!

1'st gear still spins outrageously (w/ reduced wheel hop however) and i can keep them spinning them through most of 2nd without being careful, but 3rd gear is clear blue skys.

They also have a great looking design and their very good cornering and other-than-straight line performance as well.

WELL okay, thats the end of my rant, here are some pictures!
This is when i only had them up front, since i've got another pair for the rears.

Looks just right and it sounds like the compound is sticky enough for some street fun...

Many people ignore their tires and they spend all kinds of money everywhere else forgetting the four little squares that support the entire car...

I didn't like the Invos, their corner stability was less than stellar.

260 treadwear is ok.. I Like something Stickier.

You are right they are alot better than the FZ4 Toyos.. their 300 treadwear combined with their all-season rating make them not so great for any car with torque.

Good Job getting a set of tires that are worth a damn, unlike most people who cheap out.

The Wheels have a 40mm offset.

Yhup, wheels are 17x7 with a 40mm offset.

Personaly, from driving the FZ4's i think the overall cornering seems alot more stable, even though when taking hairpins they seem to sway for a split second before recovering, its bearable, and from what i've read they last longer than expected becase of the extra care in the patterns angle's and designs, ontop of their potential to become stickier after the more you shave into them

Man, I need to upgrade my suspension so I can run bigger tires. Too bad it wont be with X-mas overtime money.

Yep, you'll have to switch to Coilovers or SRT Struts to pull that off.

Gotta keep the Total Diameter under 23.5"
