Yeah, damn SRT-D bumpers have no nostrils or anything to help with accessing that area. The bumper has to come off anyways, cuz the body shop guy has to re-paint the crosshairs a little, and I have to paint everything behind the bumper flat black so it's not as noticeable. Oh yeah...gotta hang the plastic SRT mesh as well.

Holt smokes that looks great. But I think its time for you to throw the eyelids in the trash. Don't line up with the hood and they have a weird shape and cover too much. Just my 2 cents on a beautiful car.

I keep going back and forth on the new look

I like it, then I don't like it, then I like it, dont' like... from some angles it looks really good and others the blacked out cross hairs in the grille just look weird. Maybe if they weren't as black or something so they stood out a little bit but and not look all back. I dunno

Also, may want to paint your crash bar when you take the bumper off

I can see it in the pics...

to be honest i like the old x1000
but the new still looks great!

Thanks guys! Yeah, I think I'm going to just remove the eyelids all together instead of redoing them. I also thought of going with the s-style, but I think they would look weird in either black or silver. I think I'm just gonna go with no eyelids and have bare black-housing headlights!
And yes, Jason...once the bumper comes off again, I'm going to paint everything behind the bumper flat black.
Also, the one thing I can't stand on my bumper is the crappy masking job he did on the bottom of the "mouth". He just taped it straight from one edge of the mouth to the middle crosshair, and straight across to the other side. There is no contour, which in this case, looks like shit...here's a few pictures what I'm talking about...
This is how it looks now:
Now, the red area is where he SHOULD have masked out to (and am going to make him do it over):
Sorry, I'm really anal about stuff on my car

Thanks mate.
I've always thought your car was one of the nicest on here, but I've never liked the SRT-D front. I'm sure you'll pull it off and it will look sweet.

I just can't stand the stock SXT bumpers anymore...especially with those damn "braces" (lower grilles), and I don't like any of the body kits for the Neons, so it was either the SRT-4 bumper, which EVERYONE has, or the SRT-D bumper, which very few have and look better than the SRT-4 (IMO) when you install the Mopar lip.

i love the hood but i am with alot of peeps on the SRT-D bumper.it just looks a little off to me,i loved your car the other way.your car was the main reason i bought the mopar kit,so clean.i dont realy care for the 03+ bumpers all that much either so i can understand where you are coming from tho

Very unique looking! I love how the hood goes with the blacked out crosshair. You need an emblem though. How about a picture of me?

I have an emblem, I just haven't gotten around to installing it yet. It was too cold...I'm gonna wait till it warms up a little. This is what it looks like:
Thanks guys for the

support

Haha! Kidding guys...I know the front bumper is a love/hate thing, but I don't regret the purchase at all. And yes, it's more of a matte/semi-gloss black than flat, but it's not gloss!

Totally with you on that!
Glad you decided to take the eyelids off!

The eyelids were a detractor imo. Hood looks great! And I'm with you on the masking job. It will look better once he fixes that...it would drive me crazy too
Looking really nice man

As always Brodie, I still love your car d00d. Looks great IMO. I do agree with having him fix the paint of the front, it'd drive me insane as well.
Now make it fast.

Yeah, his masking job sucked...it's REALLY annoying from the dead front...there's a little silver on the bottom of the middle crosshair that he didn't get and it's an eyesore:
It'll all be fixed though. I've heard that it's hard to take the eyelids off of aftermarket headlights because it could take off some of the lamination on the headlight itself...

you know some projectors would look freaking sweet on there if you fuck up your headlights taking off the eyelids

just an idea

Haha, I know. I'm not trying to be a copy cat or anything...I'm eventually going to get a different hood so we're not twins or anything. Besides, our cars have many differences anyways...wheels, back bumpers, spoilers, I have stripes (you don't anymore), blacked out fog area and crosshairs, etc.
Yeah, I'd love projectors, but I don't want to buy another set of headlights...plus, I really don't care for the turn signal lights on the topside of the headlight. I'm more than happy with the black-housings.

I'm still trying to figure out the nostalgia R/T look I want to go with.....

that hood looks hot...i'm thinkin of savin up & gettin the car painted satin black

Honestly I'd go for that! I have seen a few people with flat black SRTs and I think it looks dope! If you got the whole car shot with the Dupont stuff I have, the car would look SO sweet!
BRR...you're thinking of doing another oldschool theme, but an R/T theme? I guess I didn't quite understand what you said...
