ROAR >.< Car hit in parking lot.

Drunk asshole = damaged car.
Doesn't look too bad, but the estimate is $900 lol.
He hit my car and left the scene. A witness described the car to me. I talked to the gate guard, he said no one had left matching that description. So I drive through the entire complex and write down tags of 3 cars that match. It was dark and I somehow missed the taillight damage. This is around 2am. After filing a police report I go to bed, unable to sleep because of how pissed I am. At 4am I see headlights through my bedroom window. I look up to see a white Ford station wagon drive by, and park 2 spots away from me. I go outside with my badge, and other work related materials....
He starts of by denying he had ever been here before. I then point out to him his taillight laying in pieces next to my car. Then I point out my badge to him, and inform him that I deal with this on a daily basis, so effing with me is only going to get him into more trouble.
At the end of the day I decided not to call the police back and get him arrested for DUI and hit-and-run. The knowledge that my car would be fixed out of his pocket (insurance) was reward enough.

I would be so mad. Good thing you found him.

Damn, I would have been livid. Unlike you though I would have called and had him arrested for DUI. Fuck that, I wouldnt do anyone a favor that was a coward and couldn't stand up to his own mistakes. At least the damage to your car isn't all that bad.

that sux but at least it's nothing major. hope u get it back to normal asap.
btw, the dui charges wouldn't stick. just cuz u say he was drunk during the hit doesn't make it so. he can just deny it; your word against his.

It would have cost him a pretty penny to take it that far in court though. He told me, a cop, that he had been drinking, and that was why he didn't want me to call the cops back, lol. I agree with you Sparkplug, and if anyone else had told me this situation I'd have said the same thing. By this time it was nearing 5am and I had work the next day, after getting home at 1am from work. I can't describe to you how relieved I was that I found him. At that point I just wanted to go to bed.

I don't know! But, Stage 4 kit arrives in 3 days... so by the time my car is fixed up and I install everything, it won't even matter ^^. I'm just glad it's fixable.

I do body and paint work for a living, that estimate doesn't suprise me at all. It's all in the labor and materials. Because it got into the quarter a little bit, to be done right that small spot will be toucked up, then the whole quarter will be cleared so there are no tape lines or burns.
Passt, glad it didn't do much damage man. I say pocket the money to replace the taillight and go back to stockers, or just buff the lense and nightshade them and you'll never know.

Not a bad idea. This would be the time to attempt to Niteshade them, if ever. Hmmmmm

Hey, can you pm me your phone number? My car got hit in the exact same place as Nate's, last Monday. Probably a drunk too, as it was parked right in front of a bunch of bars. Mine's a lot worse tho, the lower rear corner of the quarterpanel is pushed in about an inch and a half, and out to the side about an inch.
Nate, sucks about your car. You're a better man than me, I'd have beat that fuckers ass with my asp if I were you, then had him arrested for DUI. At least you caught him, and its getting fixed by someone other than you.

yeah, and I'm broke, can't afford to fix it. There's no way I'm going to Carlisle if its not fixed by then.
