I know exactly how you feel. I'm the only person in my whole family with a passion for cars. My dad only sees my passion as a waste of time and energy and money and has no interest in cars whatsoever...

I often wonder if I was adopted, lol

Oh no one sees it as a waste of time or money. They support me in my endeavors 100%. My mom comes with me to cruise nights and will sit with me at car shows all day. She sits outside while I work on the car, and holds umbrellas and flashlights when I'm reinstalling powdercoated parts in the rain. But they don't have the "bug" I do. They never got bitten by it.

Oh well I love my family regardless and they would never scoff at me for my hobby. But it would still be cool if dad was a hot rodder too.

That's awesome! At home, my wife helps me wrench on the car, she's been under my car almost as much as me lol. My son's 9 and loves the car and has held flashlights for me while I work on the car (I'm supposed to will it to him! ) and my stepdaughter also wants me to will the car to her though she's scared to death to drive it :) . I got the bug from my dad who had a few nice cars in his day (Boss 302, 55 Chevy, VW Ghia) and still puts around in a 69 Camaro! My stepdad used to drag race at Etown in the '70's too.

Props to you, Crystal for being owner, chief bottle washer, and top model, all for your own car

I didn't realize the theme of your car until this particular set of pics (yes, I looked at the car), and I like it. I've seen one other one done in the retro them (full-out, like yours) - it was a Solar Yellow SXT done up like a Super Bee, complete with the Scat Pack Bee emblem, rump stripe, and everything. That was at N2k3.

Allex thats pretty cool that you have the entire family involved. How old are your kids?

Thanks Chuck :). Its my 1970 AAR SRT, I think I'm going to go retro with the seat covers too....we shall see.

Thanks LSP! My son's 9 (turns 10 mischief night! :-k ) and my stepdaughter's 19. They love going to Englishtown, especially if I decide to race, just to be in the pits and cheer me on. I have a vid of me at the track and you can hear my son cheering me on the whole way  . It's pretty cool :D

crystal has retro fitted headlights.. you have to buy them from someone who makes them and youll be lucky to find a well made set for under 600 bucks..

Most are closer to 1000 to 1300 actually...

yeah, crystal's are retrofitted headlights...

if you're brave enough, you can do your own retro. get teh DEPO replacement headlights from modern and then get a set of projectors off ebay. TL's are the BEST projector you can get, but they cost accordingly...

Decide if you want single xenon(lowbeam only) or bixenon(low and high in 1 projector), then decide how much you're actually willing to spend. When it comes to projectors, you get what you pay for...if you get a set of cheap projectors, you're pretty much going to have cheap lights in general with cheap output.

You can also go the same route that crystal went, which was H1 halogen projectors w/ an H1 HID kit. Looks like it has done quite well for her.

I myself and working on a TL retro for myself. I had originally purchased the projector headlights from modern, then put an H1 HID kit in it, then decided to retrofit a set of Bosch e46 projectors into those housings since the lens size was the same... I no longer have highbeams since I lost the bulb retainers for the highbeams...so now I'm going to make a TL retro instead.

If you've got the money to do it, get yourself a set of TL projectors and do the ZKW Lens swap...thats is the ULTIMATE combination. The lenses cost about as much as the projectors, so be prepared to spend about $600 just in parts, being housings, projectors, and lenses...in the end, it's well worth the investment...

If you just want projectors period...the ones that Modern sells aren't too bad with an HID kit in them.

yeah sometimes you can come across a used set for around 600-800 thats why i said that but yes to buy new your lookign at 1000-1300. or make them yourself for around 600 plus your labor. I myself just went with the projectors from modern and put a hid kit in them and although not the best they have worked out well for me.

Well I agreed with everything you said except for this. My projectors are 3" Valeo HID projectors out of a Japanese market Subaru Legacy GT, Chrysler Crossfire, and some Audis. They have H7 bulbs and not H1 bulbs. :beatstick: LOL They work amazing for me as can be seen in my lighting thread I posted awhile back. Or check my myspace there are pictures of them there also. I did make them myself so they cost me a hell of a lot less, but I sent them out to be aimed/sealed and that was my mistake. The kid who sealed them sucked at it.

LOL!!! I like football and baseball, I'm a home team fan so Red Sox and Patriots. Can't stand basketball and absolutely adore soccer (used to play until a drunk rear ended me).

Thank you though :)
