Just a little tease

Post by TheRandom1 » Sun Sep 07, 2008 3:36 pm

Finally got around to installing my projectors I got from Teejmeister here, and these things are great! I haven't done any adjusting on them yet, and they're almost perfectly aligned... now I just need a different bumper as I'm still incredibly unhappy with how the aftermarket bumper lines up with the headlights... otherwise you guys would have better pics instead of just these two. Enjoy.

Just a quick shot to see how they look during the day

And a cameraphone shot from inside the car showing how projected the beams really are! The driveway is sloped back from the parking lot, they're not actually aimed that high!

love it! what's wrong with the bumper fitment?? It looks ok, I just don't like non-fog bumpers.

If you click on the picture you can see a little bit of what I'm talking about. On the passenger side, there is a big gap between the bottom of the headlight and the bumper. Same problem I had with the stock headlights after the accident, here's an after pic with the stock headlight.

ahh, i see. Is this a bumper issue, or a result of said wreck? Can you adjust the fitment with the studs holding it to the fender?

It's already adjusted too far back as you can see in the picture (look at the wheel well alignment between fender and bumper) so in order to move it any further back I'd have to move the fender back, which can't happen as that gap is aligned very well. The problem lies in that they used aftermarket parts instead of stock replacements for the fender and bumper.

So it's the parts, I'm guessing. Plus if you look, the cut in the bumper is lower on the passenger side than the drivers side for the headlight.

Sooner or later I'll pull them back out and hook up my HID's, but for now I'm happy with how the projectors look, and I'm too darn lazy to wire up anything else right now, haha.

Ouch. That is pretty crappy man.

I've said it before...never let the insurance company put aftermarket parts on your car. They will make you think that you have no choice, but you do. Their job is to return your car to pre-accident condition. If you had OEM before the accident, that's what goes on after accident.

Sorry, insurance companies burn my ass.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

Not true. If the car is over 2 years or 24,000 miles old they can replace it with aftermarket parts. You have to DEMAND OEM replacements. Thats what I was taught in the insurance estimating class I took.

Well, Josh took a few pics of my car when we met up today, what do y'al think? I know she's filthy and missing half her body kit... still trying to get the front bumper replaced with an OEM so it'll fit properly, then I'll worry about putting it back on!

Looks good man! Nice taillights :) I've been thinking about color matching mine as well, we'll see though. Should be great when you get the front bumper fixed up and the lip back on!

What lowering springs are you on again? I'd get some better ones...the ass sags a lot. The kit looks real good though on your car!

They're 1st gen ACR springs, but I'm becoming more and more sure that my struts are either going bad, or have gone bad (no oil that I can see, but the ride is getting shitty) so I'll be going with coilovers at some point (hopefully before summer).

Thanks tho!

 the car DOES look better in the pictures than in person haha.

I'd:
-Get on the insurance companies ass about that front bumper ASAP
-Take goo gone to the old pin stripe and get rid of that residue
-More back to black
-Fix side skirt
-Put other side skirt on
-Fix rear lip
-Get front lip on
-Coilovers are a grand idea (or just new struts... then some nice lowering springs)
-That exhaust we've been talking about
-Touch up the tail lights a bit. Just take a razor blade to the old yellow
-Really. Insurance company. Do it
-Wash the fucking car
-Fiber glass eyelids
-Window tint
-Get your damn interior in good shape again. Talk to eric and get the rest of your parts

I'd say that's all a good start

Basically, get the car back into the shape it used to be in, before that accident of yours. Stop slacking!!!

I'd listen to you if you didn't have a car almost as dirty as mine, with a big black stain on your seat, and a bumper slightly better than mine, Josh!

I'm considering going with a kit for the front and rear instead of messing with the lip kit any more, suggestions?

Also, those wheels... are they 3 piece? If so, I shouldn't have to replace the whole wheel...

Oh, and finally, what was it you told me to look up on my subs?

Jeez... If those are the 1st gen ACR springs.... I sure how mine (Mopar Performance) that I just bought wont sag like that.... Although, I'm planning to put on some Tokico HPs at the same time... so hopefully not. That would suck.

They didn't always sag that bad, it's a recent thing. Plus the fact that I have a box that weighs as much as a dead body back there doesn't help either...

How it looked right after I dropped it and put the PT wheels on:

Ahh ok. Well an enclosure may do it. Also, are you still on OE struts as well?

Yup, only suspension I have done was the springs. Struts now have 50K on them.

Hey bitch! I spent 4 hours cleaning my car today, AND got that stain out. So ha!

What do you mean 3 piece? I know nothing about them. They were on the car when I got the neon after all. You'll have to do your own research there.

Look up the Hz it plays at best, then set your radio to that.
