Re-upholstery, Embroidery, and a new look for my trunk

I posted this here since not everyone frequents the Progress threads, and figured I'd see what everyone thought rather than the select few who check out my progress thread.

As all of you guys well know I built my car for show not the strip, and will continue to do so. But during judging I lose points because my trunk (a category on most slips) has nothing to offer. I'm not big on systems, and refuse to waste money on one when my Kicker speakers do the job well and allow me to keep trunk space. So I re-did the trunk. Here is what was done in a nutshell.

The material is Black, low pile, nylon loop carpeting
The vinyl is Enduratex Marine

- Rear deck re-upholstered in black, tether strap covers and holes deleted
- Back of backseat's re-upholstered in black
- Entire trunk carpet done in black
- Spare tire cover done in black with pink binding
- Decklid carpet done in black with Pink Embroidery, center built up with foam to delete the contour.
- Cargo mat with rubber backing (factory floor mat backing), embroidery, and pink binding.
- Kicker sub trim ring painted Panther Pink
- Fire extinguisher painted Panther Pink
- Mopar STB will be powdercoated semi gloss black, but not this week huge show tomorrow.
- Seats are next
- Chalk marks have been removed since these shots were taken.

Let me know whatcha think!!!

Here is a before shot, don't mind my bag of cleaning supplies and bag chair.

nice looks sharp...

You should get a rechargeable ABC dry chemical fire extinguisher built by Amerex. They look nice and will actually put out a fire. (I used to sell them) I like the pink on it though :)

Teej: Ha ha Brodie's making dinner and didn't know I posted this, he's busy shopping for a new keyboard. Thanks for the compliments!

Jwallace:
Thank you!

Sykora: Most guys say that, though you'd be surprised to hear it. Thanks :)

Ronin: Its an A/B/C Automotive Kidde extinguisher. It is fully functional, I just wetsanded it and painted it panther pink. LOL Red just would ruin the whole scheme of things back there!

Anthony: Thank you, as is your beast

Frank: Truth!!! LOL I'm a chick. No I didn't do this myself. I helped out, and did the reinstallation of everything, but the actual upholstery work isn't something I did. I had Dave, at Charles St. Auto and Boat Top do the work for me. I did all the paint work and designed everything. Reinstalled and Uninstalled all the parts, but as far as covering stuff...no sir...not I. Dave did it, and did an AMAZING job.

Nty: LOL your bike ey? Going for a ride are we? LMFAO

got a point...I just have a personal preferance for the different style. I have one that I airbrushed flames on it...kinda ironic

Still looks nice. Are you going to put anything else back there or leave it at that?

Looks great. Just stop putting srt everywhere. You are over playing it imo. Otherwise looks fantastic.

+1
Too much SRT-4. Would be cool if the top said NEON instead. Maybe paint the M on the strut tower bar pink? Maybe not, might be a disgrace to Mopar.

Nty: I've never seen that movie, any good?

rOniN: I've never seen the Amerex ones, are they more aesthetically pleasing? LOL pretty fire extinguishers, sounds funny doesn't it? I'm not planning on putting anything else back there (maybe some upgraded lighting but you won't see that) I want to leave it as it stands. The only other thing I'll be doing is powdercoating the STB semi gloss black.

kornholio: I have SRT-4 in the trunk and on the seats. Other than that NOTHING else on my car denotes what it is. When you see it in person you can't look at both at the same time (up close) and its very pleasing in person. Not to mention the cargo mat is removeable, and doesn't need to be in there at all times. I have two options for how it can look cargo mat or without. You are entitled to your opinion, but overplaying it I am not. Thank you.

chend: Banstick? LOL Why am I getting the banstick? Thanks for the compliments and no....I'm a very poor medical student who works part time and pays to attend clinicals.

MyNeonSaysHi: Neon would look out of place to me. No I'm not an SRT-4 owner that denies she owns a neon, but it wouldn't look right at all. The M will stay blue, otherwise its not a Mopar "M", its just an "M"

Cbuss:
Thank you!!!

JBann:
Thanks :)

Gramps: Thank you darling!

It took me 3 months to get my Camber fixed from Carlisle

Thanks guys :) I really don't have alot of time (or money) thats the funny part. I'm in clinicals three days a week, and at work the other four days a week. And I have two other classes. This semester I have not ONE day off. It sucks bigtime, but what can I do? I try to do things here and there to keep the modding rolling....

Its an addiction :)

Nice job on the trunk LSP  . I agree with MyNeonSaysHi though. Maybe you could have put "Dodge" on the trunklid carpet and "SRT-4" on the cargo mat. It would just break it up a little. Great job though it looks really clean and I like how it's not all cluttered. BTW-Go and rent 40 year old virgin! Today! Not tomorrow, not next week! Today! Hell I will even send you my copy. You'll laugh your butt off. :)

I think you did a great job in all respects. Very tastefully done. I must say that I haven't seen the Mopar rear strut bar done in such a manor. I really hate too say this but..... I'm glad that my Mopar rear strut bar has been on b/o now for 3 months from modern, as now I'm going to copy your set-up. Well, that is when I do finally receive it from them.

Enjoy a job well done!!!!! :notworthy:

David: Alot of people hack up their carpeting, cutting it out, cutting out holes, and all sorts of shit that to me looks gaff. I simply removed a portion of the deadener (in the size of the strut tower bar's mount) and slit two small holes so the studs on the strut could come through. You have to cut the carpeting off so that the studs come through, otherwise everything is too thick for the nuts to catch on them. I think the way I installed it, is much cleaner and more professional looking. :) Brodie picked up another carpet he liked my way so much ha ha. Thanks for the compliments hun!

BiggRob: Thank you! I'll see if I can find it On demand and I'll watch it when I have a free moment.

Ha ha I'd have to paint everything to match. Funny thing is, in Europe and Britain they have all these stores that carry car accessories that are pink. Here in the US they don't. Strange coincidence.
