still awake at 6am this morning so i decided to drive out the local Reservoir , and get some sunrise pictures. here are some of the neon related pictures I took. the car needs work, and my photographic skills could use some work as well. any comments or suggestions welcome

Decided to get a quick car wash since it was still dark out when I left, and i thought the lighting might add to the pictures....didn't realy take to much time to make adjustments since i lost feeling in my hands after washing the car, was a tid bit nipply out this morning. I'm not real pleased with these ones but here ya go.

would have liked to spent more time making adjustments and what not, but silly fishers wanted to get their boats in the water so i had to cut it short.

let me know what you think.

Is it just me or are your doors ruined from the side moldings? It looks like a major paint issue or it could just be the light reflection.

Nice pics though. It looks like the neon is staring in the water trying to catch a fish like a cat. lol

I wanted to pull up closer, but didn't have time. I'm thinking get the lip to just graze the water....hum next time

The only time I got nervous was when I was letting off the clutch to back up

and yes the paint on the doors is crap. when I got the car the side moldings were half on half off, bubbly paint rust and what not underneath on the passenger side. the driver side is fine for what ever reason its just the passenger side that's bad. I've been putting off having it taken care of since I know paint and body work is never as cheap as I would like it to be. i wish it was just light reflection.

Some awesome pics man. Very nice.

And I would get that door fixed sooner than later man. Rust = cancer. Once it gets too far you mine as well just get a new door.

I'm picking up a hood on Saturday and then heading to the body shop to get some quotes on painting the hood and taking car of the doors/ some other issues, dent in fender, rust by sun roof. I don't want to get Cancer.

why would the car of gone in? if the brake was set or it was in gear it wouldn't have gone in. people back trucks with trailors down into the water everyday.

I'd be nervous about letting the clutch out there though. Well I can't really drive stick, so that makes sense I guess.

Yeah, give it time and you will be able to let the clutch out some while still on the brake and know that the clutch is starting to engage so you won't roll much.

It's easier with a cable clutch than it is with a hydraulic clutch to get that feel.

not sure whats crazy about it, like some people said as long as its in gear or the e-brake is on the car isn't going anywhere.

but lets face it water, fog, sunrise, is a great background for any picture, car or not imo. On the other hand i think there are better backgrounds for car pictures as well so i see what your saying jbann

I've parked my car closer than that to the water on a boat launch....I do just what Frank said. The longer you drive the car the more you know when the clutch is engaging so you don't roll back at all. The shots look good, I love the fog but your baby needs some wax!

It is a matter of learning the feel of the clutch and translating that into correct timing to ease up on the brake.

I learned that very quickly when I was just starting out with driving a tractor-trailer rig. Not cool to be rolling backwards on a hill into the cars lined up behind... I'm certain there were a few motorists in a panic behind me the first time or two.

I really like the shot from the rear facing into the fog. But man, you gotta get those doors fixed asap.

went to the body shop yesterday, close to a $1000, to fix the two doors, dent in front fender and to paint the new hood i'm looking at getting. gotta love paint and body work. photoshop can take care of those rust spots for a lot less, lol

thanks for the positive feed back, hope to improve the car and pictures as time goes on.
