Cause there are not enough LED interior pics

Post by jbogden » Wed Dec 24, 2008 7:50 pm

Spent a few minutes tonight and wired up a cupholder LED

I have seen the previous posts and they look awesome, but I was going for a more functional look...I wanted something that didn't throw off my night vision but still allowed me to see the cupholders...
here are the pics of the main cupholder, the other 2 are the same..
I have some flush mount leds that I drilled a hole for and hot glued in place so they don't intrude into the cupholder at all and shine forward to keep the light out of your eyes

I also installed a yellow/white into the flip up console(may add another)

wired into the light for the shifter so they dim as well!

Not bad at all, but the ones aiming upwards are no intrustion to night vision at all. Does that illuminate bottles well?

I'll get a pic...
my night vision sucks...the main reason I went with red....
I have to turn down the dash lights at night or that screws me up actually....I tried a smaller blue earlier and that was enough glare to be an issue...lemme get a pic real quick of a bottle

ok...no flaming....didn't have a water bottle so I grabbed a smirnoff from the beer fridge...everything else was a brown bottle!

I understand now. I'm blind in one eye so the glare isn't all that bad to me. And limited peripheral vision helps too. That looks really good though, I like it. Are they run on switches or to be on constantly?

The cupholder lights are on all the time...the console is switched with an old hood pin switch I had off an alarm..soon as you pull it up it comes on

That pretty sweet. I like the console light idea. Lol we need a cupholder led thread, it seems that everyone is doing it now.

I understand about the night vision. I love my 1st gen, I can turn the cluster TOTALLY off instead of just really dim like the second gens hehe.

I <3 the red cupholder light!!!
