so i went on a little road trip today to my girls family's farm so a bunch of neons on the way, but i forgot i had the camera!!

i saw at least 4 riced out 1st gens, on real clean 1st gen r/t

2 srts, one crashed 02 r/t and the only one i got a pic of was this one at a dealer, by the time i got back to the others it was dark, but here is the one pic i did get



not bad but could definitely use some work, lose all the chrome, the hood scoop and spoiler, put some wheels on it and ???

me tinks it would be better stock...

Its for areodynamic purposes, it creates a vortex redirecting the the airflow in such a manner to where it goes directly to the spoiler steadily increasing the downforce thusly making you as aerodynamic as a ferrari.

Scoop = drag

SRT spoiler alone on a regular 2gn adds roughly 10-15hp. But with that combination they have going with the scoop and spoiler it should seem like about 45-50 hp just because of the aerodynamic properties.

I saw a blaze red sxt in KCMO the other day with the Mopar lip kit and the 3d tails.. I wonder if they sold SXT's with the kit installed as an option>?

Like the light blue color and thats about it.

the scoop was definetly backwards and it had the mopar 3ds, i called about it today lol just to see what they said and the guy said it was a srt!! lol NOT

Ok lemme point out something, the SRT-4 hood scoop is designed to air cool the turbocharger assembly, and not to add horsepower

And as far as this scoop being "backwards", it could also be suggested that it's a heat vent... the pressure will move the air up through the airdam and radiator and out through the air vent.

Anyways, I agree with DOSneons, lose the chrome, put some nice wheels on it, lower it... actually would look pretty decent. I think too often some of you have the hate reaction on a macro key

If it were actually part of the hood I may just believe you. But...alas its not part of the hood its a stick on special, so it's not a scoop nor a vent. It's just.......tard.

Why would it have to be part of the hood? When I was involved with DSM's, they used to just pop rivet reverse scoops onto the hood. We really have no idea how he fastened it, or if it's functional or not. Really, some 3M double-sided tape would be fine, as long as there is a genuine hole underneath for the heat to escape from... it's not like it's *catching* air so it doesn't need to be welded on

Okay so the scoop, spoiler and a few others aren't my thing but I do like the color.

That's what I meant, it's not a functional piece, it's not "part" of the hood. There is no hole there for air to escape through. He went to pep boys and thought it, and the chrome trim, looked cool so he bought it. Remove all of that stuff and the car would look clean as hell...it's also a nice shade of blue.

You are probably right, because of the chrome, but if he *had* indeed cut a hole for it, you wouldn't be able to see it, that was my point.

ok sorry my net is broke i got an update

there is no hole in the hood, the paint isdefinetly custom there is a ton ofmetal flake in it, the motor is all stock, it has a huge exhuast tip on it seriously like 4 in lol, and they want 10500 for it!!

i had to use the internet on my buddies iphone to proove to the guy it wasnt a srt i still dont think they will change theprice

Maybe if it was an SRT, but I don't think any second gen is worth over $5,000. I could be wrong though...
