I like it as is. Don't paint it.

Lowest quote I got is from Maaco - $280. But their paint sucks!LilSparkPlug wrote:Who the hell charges $500 to re-finish a factory primed hood? That's stupid as hell! You can have it painted MUCH cheaper than that...try $150.
Other places I checked charge between $450-$850.

I don't believe that any body shop would tell you $850 to paint a hood. Nor do I believe they would tell you $450 to paint a hood, unless they really didn't want to do it and wanted you to go away. It takes an hour or so to prep it and a couple hours to paint it plus materials. No more than $200 from anywhere.
That's probably the price on the East Side of the country. I've checked MANY places around and believe me it is more than $200 to paint a hood here.LilSparkPlug wrote:I don't believe that any body shop would tell you $850 to paint a hood. Yeah because it's so cheap to do things over here. Not really. That price seems down right rediculous.Xtian wrote:That's probably the price on the East Side of the country. Riiiiiiiiiiiiight cause we're cheap fucks over here? No...not really. You're either lying through your teeth or just making up a story to validate that you don't want to paint the hood. No body shop would EVER charge that much to paint a hood one solid color ESPECIALLY in this economy when they are starving for work.Xtian wrote: That's probably the price on the East Side of the country.
