My day had a nice start...

Cat pwns Kaminari.
I have hit a fox, and a coyote both at about the same speed. (60 mph) and neither even scratched the paint. Leave it to some pussy to ruin a man's life. :P
The whole thing is spider cracked. Haven't decided if I want to bother repairing it yet. It will prolly happen again. I drive through too many rural areas. Just glad it wasn't a deer.

Thats what I get for buying american. Should've just slapped a cheapo cover on and called it a day. Would have been a lot less expense down the drain. And prolly wouldn't have spread the impact out so much, doing less damage.
The left fender pushed back in place, the cowl was already damaged from it being totalled, and I guess I will do some touch-up paint on the fender for now.

Dang, was that cat the size of a gorilla? I vote to repair it and do the rustoleum paint job! That bumper looks great on your car.

Wow... that sucks!

It must have been a 20 pounder at least.

It didn't come out from under the car till about 100 feet later.

I'm almost afraid to see how much of it is still there.

It was running like a cat runs, didn't have a chance to barely lift off the gas. That thing shot out of the trees just booking it.
I didn't realize it did so much damage till I parked at work.

I like the looks, but IDK if it would survive another hit. I doubt you could make it as strong as it was, and the srength alone is what caused so much damage to the fenders. An oem bumper would have just flexed. Cracked paint would have been all there was.

I hit a woodchuck with the oem one when I first got it, and it didn't do anything. That cat just found the weakest point or something.

I think because cats are so squishy, (ever stepped on one laying on the steps in the dark?) it just spread out instead of bouncing off. Kind of like the effect of a hollow point bullet.
Looking at it I think it lodged in the opening before falling under the car.
I can only imagine the looks on ppl's faces if it had stuck. And my luck, it would have been thrashing, as I drove merrily along.

I prolly would have stopped out of curiousity if I hadn't seen it come out.
I have only hit one animal that I never found any remains of but hair. That was a huge dog that lept from a field at me while I was doing 90 mph on my to high school in my '64 Polara. I honestly think it vaporized. You don't mess with 60's chrome.

ouchies.

I feel bad for road kill. I'm one of those people who cares more about animals than people.

Oh, I feel for them. It would prolly boggle your mind, the amount of animals that get killed on the roads every year.

But unfortunately I don't know of a reasonable, or workable solution. It is a bad side effect of our way of living.
There are answers, but prolly none that would work agreeably for either party.
In reality, it boils down to survival. Survival of the way we commute, which our way of life has basically cornered us into. And the survival of the ones we have encroached on.

Not so much for urban ppl, But those of us that have no other options but to drive a few miles instead of taking a bus/ whatever.
But then where the urban areas are, there were countless that paid with their lives to provide that living space for humans.

It's why I keep my cats inside, because i know eventually they would be road pizza too. Or worse, too many sick ppl out there. I know they hate it, but it is the lesser of the evils.

/rant.

Wow, that cat must have been a beast!!! So you hit a cat, a woodchuck and a dog? All I've ever done is run over a squirrel back in 01. I felt wicked bad he had already crossed the road but a car was coming from the other direction. He then decided to turn back....right under my driver's side tire.

But that cat did a number on your poor car.

Must have been a kamikaze cat with a well-planned execution. He has probably been watching you daily and preparing for the perfect attack.

Well ok, probably not. But damn, that sucks!

I'd say the cat's day started off much worse than yours.

Wow. I have only killed one animal and it was a cat. This was back in the day of my 240. The giant meats on that thing squished it flat, quite literally. I stopped and told the people at the house and they blamed me that I hit their cat. Geesh.

That cat did, however, throroughly pwn your kaminari. The cat must have been like a 40lb cat that just got done eating rocks for breakfast. I say fix it for now and hope to not hit another demon kitty.
