Well Here is the update. I found a local SRT Owner who totaled his car and was selling the RB1 Navigation Radio. Now to piss everyone off ... ... I got it for $180 and that included the RB1, Nav DVD, Antenna, and the 6 Disc CD Changer, Cable for the Changer, and Bezel. I already had a 6 Disc changer so I didn't need that stuff. But dude, $180!
I also put this update in my Project Log.

$180? I'm jealous!
I want one myself but can't afford the almost $2K list (this would be a terrific birthday present next month- hint, hint

). Is it possible to watch a DVD when the car isn't in motion? Will the player accept DVD Audio discs if you choose the music information only?

It really was the deal of the century for me, I couldn't say no, even the responsible side of me said DO IT

.
Unfortunately it can't read DVD Movies at all and only uses the DVD Drive to read the Navigation Disc. I dont know about DVD Audio, I will have to try it sometime and let you know.
rOniN:
Yeah me too, even when I had my Neon i wanted one. Killer Killer deal.

If I ever get mod money, it would be a toss-up between the NAV radio and coilovers. Yeah, I WANT that radio!

I love the RB radios, they're so amazing and clean looking. I'd definitely get one if I had the chance to get one THAT cheap. Having the factory six disc again plus Nav would be amazing. Yes...I too am jealous. And I agree with SlvrACR the MyGigs are by far the best radios, from what I understand you need an adapter cable to get them to work with earlier models, not sure if one is available for the neon though.

Ya i used a lockpick adapter to make it work in my 07 caliber. i made the howto for caliber owners

looks good man! It's too bad those can't be modded to play DVD videos. that would be sick
Crystal - You're 6 disc changer is still in the car right? Is it functioning with your head unit?

Whoa!!! Killer price! I had to pay like $1500 back in 2003-2004 for one! lol That's an awesome deal!!!
Aheh aheh aheemmmmm....
Can I play movies or other DVD type discs?
Not as it comes from the factory. The RB1 is designed to only read the special DVD-ROM Navigation disc. However, in the spring of 2004 an aftermarket company began offering modified units in which input jacks are added to the rear. This modification allows an external A/V source, such as a portable DVD player, to be plugged into and displayed on the RB1's screen. The mod does not allow you to play a DVD movie directly in the RB1, and is somewhat expensive (around $400 not including the RB1). One company that offers this upgrade is

Damn very clean unit! Can't go wrong with a factory piece.

..........that thing is AWESOME!
I wish my factory radio came with more than just a tape player. Aftermarket radios are so ugly compared to factory.

Um, what's the big deal w/ this radio? I'm not knocking it, I just don't understand the big deal. You can't watch DVDs on it, it DVD map based, it's a stock unit.
Someone fill me in

it's a luxury item that wasn't really made for the neon and wasn't offered but slides right in like it was meant to be there.
the RB1 is DVD based nav while mine (RB4) is CD based nav
EDIT:
Just went out and snapped a pic of the RB4

I like the RB4 as well but prefer the Rb1 as it only has 1 DVD versus 4 CD's.

the rb4 only has 2 CDs. East and West coast. But still, i agree. It would be nice to only have one to worry about.

Pretty much... it's better you learn it here than from somewhere else.
It just gives a cleaner look to the car. I want the car to look good and basic at the same time.

No. I wanted a nice radio that wasn't gigantic with an external screen that blocks my hvac controls and looks out of place. The RB1 is probably one of the best head units that were available from Chrysler that are plug and play in our car. They also cost around $1500 new and average $500 to $600 used.
Its just a nice head unit that has the features I was looking for in a stock package.

the plug and play factor would be the biggest sell for me. and the fact that it looks factory, and probably won't be noticed by car audio theives as much as an alpine flip out deck would, for example.
and no, i don't have $600, you shouldn't mark it up and sell it for retail, you paid $180, so i'll give you $200 for it. haha, just kidding.

Few years ago my car was broken into while I was at work in downtown Cincinnati. Car was in a public parking garage, they broke my passenger window, stole my radar detector, some empty CD cases, and that was pretty much it.... didn't even touch the RB1 or take the Nav disc out of the unit. Either they were just in a hurry and didn't want to bother or it didn't stand out enough for them to notice and try to take it... who knows but if it was the latter, works for me
