Thanks all for the compliments. :D

There were a bit over 100 cars. Smaller show but it was thier first one. They wanted alot of categories.

They chose to add that many female categories and it was the first show to do it to that extent in the area. We usually have at least one category named "Best Female Ride/Car" And then another for "Best Female Bike". Most shows that have female car awards require your license and registration to be matched to the car so you can't enter your boyfriend's car or friend's car and say it's yours.

Here is one of the trucks that won in the interior class. I was shocked to even have taken third, my interior is very subtle and not over the top like some of the others there were. You can see me in the camera lol.

I honestly don't think it's stupid at all, and that's not just because I won. I've lost many Best Female trophies in the past. It's nice that females who are into the car scene are allowed recognition in what is normally a guy's hobby.

Sadly, this took best female paint. If you look closely the bottom of the bumper isn't painted at all and the sideskirts are a different color inside the wheel wells. The back bumper was all wavy too.

I agree about it not being stupid. What I was wondering is that there might be those who think that the only way that a female can compete is if "special" categories exist but that is total hogwash. I think that it is so cool that the ladies are into this as much as the guys.

Gramps: I can see what you mean. But most females don't build to the extent that I have (and still am....). Some people do see it as a sort of handicap I see it as being recognized that chicks can do it to, and do it well.

Nate: It's true, he knows it. He just did the 5 speed swap on his a few days ago, he has other rims and needs to re-do the paint job (as does she her poor car got attacked by Maaco).

Mat: Yeah? She's a sweetheart, her little Honda. I'll make a thread of the rolling shots I took of their cars in OTM.

congrats LSP..
btw.. female ride is a good asset to the car show scene. it helped get females into the scene more and now some top cars in the industry are female owned.. IMHO the female category helped this happen..

also glad to see good turn out.. the scene seemed to be dying out as of late.

you know hot import nights started doing female ride as well as teenager ride along time ago. they quit doing teenager (which i think is a mistake).

anyways.. congrats.. very well deserved win

Thanks Lex. The scene is very much alive around here, especially in Mass and CT. CT really knows how to bring people out, some shows there are over 300 cars. I agree with you about the female category assisting most females in coming out into the industry more. Never made a difference to me, I came out anyways and competed mostly in my own class.
