Just a little update...MOAR to come!!!!!!!

Post by superdan » Sun Jun 28, 2009 8:58 pm

Ryan came down yesterday around 11am and we worked until about that time lastnight. We installed the new console he gave since mine had a stupid switch cut into the console right by the e-brake. Then we tucked my ipod wire underneath the consol and installed my booger bushings.
Then we went a head and put my front lip on. Got that on and reinstalled the bumper. Took my battery tray out start sand blasting it and install the rest of the boogers. After that we started installing my rear lip. And as you can see we made a little modification to it

Image

Image
Old console with the stupid worthless (to me) switch.

Image
New console

Image
No crash bar lol dont ask it was already done when i bought the car lol

Image
Anyone know what this is for?

Image
Boogers. Yes i know my tranny is dirty alone with everything else in the engine bay. Lets just say it would be better to leave my hood closed at carlisle lol

Image
(before blasting) Nasty rusted battery tray. Didnt get a chance to finish blasting it.

Image

Image
Almost finished product. I couldnt find any holes underneath to zip tie the center so we may end up just cutting it off. Am i crazy for cutting a lip kit? Probably lol

Image
Front. 3m tape wasnt used since i am getting a foglight bumper painted as we speak. It just may not be on for carlisle. We'll see though.

comments welcome. yes i know my car needs a good buff among other TLC. Its still a work in progress. Thanks for looking guys and gals

That sensor is your AAT (ambient air temperature sensor) on neons it should be located on the driver's side underneath the radiator away from the engine so it gets the most accurate outside air reading.

On the SRT it plugs into the first half of the air inlet tube before it meets the air box. According to the diagram I saw the other night, yours should just sit near the bottom of the radiator. One of the guys with a 2.0L can chime in better since I've never actually witnessed that. But it is your AAT.

So it's the same sensor as an IAT? I thought, hmmmm this looks like an IAT so I pulled the one out of his intake and they both looked identical. I couldn't figure out why he had two. The other reason I thought it was weird is because I found the fog light socket on the pass side but where I thought it was on the drivers side I found that sensor. odd.

As for the rear lip... I think we're cutting it off. When I was driving behind him it looked like poo hanging down.

We also found some bonus wiring under the carpet which went through a hole in the firewall... We looked on the other side and found a black box labeled Innovate Motorsports lambda cable plugged into the 02 sensor... looks like he has a wideband 02 sensor.

Dan, you keep spelling console wrong! :beatstick: :D

that rolled mopar lip would look sick with a diffuser stuck in there, you should try and fab one up. it looks like it's begging for one!

looks good.

I dont know how they are on 2.0s, but on SRT's, the AIT sensor looks was different than the AAT. Our AIT plugs into the Intercooler pipe where as the AAT plugs into the Intake tube.

well the sensor I pulled from the intake (IAT) looked identical to this other one we found. same shape, same connector.

We also discovered Dan has SRT struts and some sort of orange lowering springs that don't give much of a drop.

You guys are using ALL of the wrong abbreviations.

AAT = Ambient Air Temp sensor
IAT - Inlet/Intake Air Temp sensor

Here are the locations of both sensors for the 2.0L motor

Sorry. fixed the typo, mom. Air Intake Temp, Intake Air Temp. Meh, means the same thing

Thanks for the schematics. If it's broken we'll zip tie it to the rad support so it's not dangling

Well it just gets confusing when three people are using three different abbreviations for the same sensor LOL. Clarifying it will help you guys figure out exactly what you're looking at. :D I just use Chrysler's abbreviations since I find it easier.

Well I think you're talking about the top one IAT, not the lower one. And that's not true. Most intakes have provisions for it. Mine does

 no way soon... I live in the ghetto.

Get off the internet and call up Innovate about getting t00n software!

LOL at you two having a convo in this thread! And yeah...the AAT is never in the intake on a 2.0L. More confusion!

So you have a wideband 02 sensor in the exhaust?

Tenzo said they would send one to me but first i had to call wheelsnext and tell them so they would call Tenzo and Tenzo would directly ship them to me...lol but of course wheelsnet had me on hold for 15min so i just hung up lol

Sweet. Did you explain to them that they aren't deep enough? (that's what she said) Hopefully they sent some that will fit.

Yeah, it appears as though he has got a wideband 02. At least all indications would point to that.

I hate rusty battery trays. I just redid mine too. Looking great man.

Well, the AAT sensor on a neon is just used for the temperature readout on the rearview mirror. It doesn't deal with the engine tuning at all. Heck, my car just has the connector, no sensor. It is the same type of sensor as the IAT.

That's sweet. Will they send you all four, or just two? We should still try to mod those ones you have if they only send 2. I'm 99% sure it will work.
