can this be done where its really functional? with out breaking anything or what not? i would like to do it but i want it to be functional? if it cant hold up to the abuse of being pulled on from a tractor or a truck, IMO its not worth the time. although like i said id like one " if u can really use it"

What is your problem? My problem is as soon as someone said something critical of your tow hook you jump on the offensive and call him a "hater." This is a public forum with public opinions. Not everyone on this site is going to like your car or agree with your point of view. Get over yourself. If you don't want people to say anything critical of something you posted then don't post it.
I wasn't even talking to you, so shut the f@#! up.
You quoted me so that must mean you're talking to me. Grow some thicker skin.

I don't see the point of a tow hook. Can't you drive or do you really think you'll end up in a ditch? I don't see why anyone would need one.

i know where i live they dont know how to plow the roads in the winter! so tbh they could come in handy, ( even though i have only been in the ditch 1 time but that was bc of a dumb ass dump truck driver being on the wrong side of the road.)

In NH they don't plow that great either but if you know how to drive you know not to drive stupid in bad weather.

i wasnt driving stupid and i went in the ditch..lol.. i go ran off the road by a dump truck! going around a corner on my side of the road..lol... so ur theory is flawed!, u dont have to be driving "stupid" to go into the ditch..

Anyways, I'm not really a big fan of tow hooks. I'm not even sure how functional that will be even with the 1/2" plates. I can just see it getting ripped right off. But if it floats your boat go for it.

*ducks for cover*

Every forum is like that.
He posted picts of his tow hook and he got feedback. He just doesn't like the negative feedback and takes it personal.

Maybe if they could be tucked underneath where the were out of sight but would still function. It would look better.

The hooks are meant more for the track, so if the car dies, they can quickly attach a tow strap to it and remove the car. Or so it can be towed to the track from the trailer.

If the car is not seriously stuck, then it would prolly suffice to use it for recovery. But I would be more comfortable with one on each side for that.

If function only was followed, most of our cars wouldn't have spoilers, lips, or side skirts either. After all they are only for looks. The tow hook is just another thing carried over from racing....

i like it cuz iv had to have my car towed with the body kit and i had to take off the front bumper and it the thing scrapped all of my shit underneath. i will be doing this just because i dont want to have to ever tow my car up. i would rather them just pull it, then lift it up.

For the functions, occasional demons did a great explanation about everything. For the looking, I think everyone has their own opinion, someone like it and someone don't. Just try to accept all kinds of opinions and calm down.

***insert completely non-constructive criticism of this site here***

OP: Why did you put this on? Personally my biggest concern is raking my leg accross the damn thing. I caught my leg on a tow pintle last night and I'm still cussing. Personally I don't like the look. I do like the idea since every time I'm towed I spend 20 minutes taking off my front bumper and another 15 tying it down on the truck.

it actually doesnt look bad. i like it. and it sorta matchs the red on your car.

I don't like the tow hook. Your car was better off without it.

*Now I know I'll get flamed by the OP for this comment, but w/e.
