Mileage, baby, mileage!
Today, 9/17/09, my car finally hit the 100,000 mile mark. Only two owners in its entire life and it's still very healthy. This is my highest mileage car and it has the least amount of quirks.
I love it!

Wow, is that all?! Just kidding, mine has almost 170k on it now and it finally might need a clutch. Very happy with mine too, keep enjoying it!

I've always said that Neons are more dependable than the motoring press have given them credit for. Congratulations!

I never changed my timing belt in the Neon and she was still chuggin' along at 120K when I sold her. People don't give enough credit to these engines. They can blast on for miles and miles as long as you give it SOME attention.

No, didn't change the timing belt or anything yet. I'm going to see if I can make it another 5 or 10 thousand before that. Car has it's fair share of super minor problems, but most of them have resulted from aftermarket things I've installed

Other than a few glasspack slaps, no e-brake, and clicking before the car warms up, this car is amazingly dependable. Hope I'm not jynxing myself here, but I really am going to drive my Neon until it dies (FOREVER!).

Wow, conrats on the 100,000 mark! It shows how great the neon's engine is. Mine's at 160k now and still going strong.

I would change it sooner than later, the belt is only rated for 105k miles. I changed mine early, rather do that than have it self destruct and leave you stranded.

Would anyone advise getting a cam 200 while I do this? I'll have to see how much it is all together.
EDIT: And what true color is your car? Shale green or hunter green? I always thought mine was hunter green and yours was shale green, but mine is metalflake, so wouldn't that make mine shale green since the hunter green is gloss?

I don't know what color mine is, I just polished with a gritty Turtle Wax scratch/paint restorer kind of stuff. Only did it by hand though, then waxed it, will be posting new pics in second. Should be able to tell a little better what the real color is then.
As far as putting in a cam at the same time, I don't know if matters if you are doing the timing belt or not, might not be a bad time but I don't think it makes too much difference.
