Put the SRT hood back on, 1st/Last winter pictures :-(

I had to move the car out into the elements today, since the wind blew my carport over. We had it staked down TIGHT, but 50mph+ midwest wind gusts didn't give a shit. Had the hood gone, but due to some technicalities, I still have the hood, so I tossed it on. Feel free to flame on my rear lip, dirty ass tires with no air, dirty car, or anything else really. I haven't driven it in 3 days.

Oh, and my camera FTL, I know. So don't flame that.

My plate is showing! Come find me.

Nope, I wont be raising the car up for winter. This is a more comfortable ride than my Tokicos and Eibachs were, and I took those through 2 winters.

Also, I've got a Chrysler grille sitting in the other room, all wrapped up with a bow on it. I was going to take pics of the steering wheel swap, but it's SO windy and freezing, that I didn't stick around much. I already spent over an hour collecting pieces of my carport from mine and my neighbors' yards.

Why didn't you put your new chrysler grill on yet? And why did you unpack the hood? Are you backing out our deal? :(

Anyway, pics look good. I am digging the rear lip + exhaust.

Nah. My pops told 'em that I'd probably be waiting til the new year, so it was unpacked at his station :-(

Yeah, you know that stuff the SRT guys use to make Home Depot lips? I was thinking about lining the cutout on my rear-lip with it, to sort of clean up the cut and make it look. . . "nicer."

Mmmmm 02 front with SRT hood. So pretty. All it needs is some coons, foglights/covers and a grille.

Yeah man I lost my car cover last year due to the heavy winds. I was very tempted to buy the same one again at wal-mart last night for $23 but decided not too.. "budge" was the brand.

this weather sucks...

Mine was a 10x20. Had my go-kart in it too. That's already rusting, so it's ok.

I'm going to fab up some sort of fog covers, and yeah. . . Grille waits til X-Mas. Freaking Mom and her rules.

Dude you're telling me! She even let me go out and test-fit it when it came in, to be sure it's the right one. If I get a chance after Christmas and between family visits, I've got a few things to add to the car, and I guess I may post a few more pics.

^your mommy is strict and my mom would do the same thing. I got her on a technicality though this year. I asked for Adobe CS4 Design Suite and I had to get it through my school since it's hella cheap so she wrote me a cheap to buy it. I bought it, installed the software on my comp and gave her the case afterwards. So the suspense won't be as great when I unwrap it

Haha. That's how I got my 360 from her this year. I had to do it since she wasn't a member on the site I got it from. Then, when it came it, I triple checked it, plugged it in. . . etc. . .a few hours later, I decided it was legit and put it back in the box. Still suspenseful, but not quite as much heh heh

btw, if you want cheap fog inserts go to ur favorite store that sells cheap shit, get one of those plastic for sale signs for a house or car and cut the inserts out of that, scuff it up paint em flat black and find a way to attach them. that's what I'd do. or get fogs

Lol. Expensive/rare 02 fogs. My wiring got ripped to shit anyway. I was thinking of getting some sort of heavy-duty plastic and cutting them myself. Spray 'em black. . . or PS2? Then I'd just bolt them in like the fogs would.

Theres a dude on the srtforums that used an old trash bin to make his fog covers. They came out great.
I have some OEM fog covers but they are for 00-01 non/rt. :(

No wonder you were out in that weather taking pictures!

Oh and uh... the steering wheel should go INSIDE the car, so you have no excuse why you haven't taken pics of it yet!

Damn, I really love how that civic lip looks when it's not molded into the bumper. If anyone has one, I'd trade mine with the civic lip molded to the bumper for it.

Beautiful car, man.

My lip is "molded," sorta. Poly resin all round it. So it looks bolt-on, but it's going nowhere.

Yeah, across the street from an elementary school. There are 2 on my street. Little kids were watching me pull pieces of my carport from the branches.

I want some coons SO bad. But alas, no $$=no mods.

any more close ups of what you did with the lip? from far it doesnt look too bad

Posted: Wed Dec 09, 2009 10:56 pm
by FAC3L3SS
From up close, it doesn't look too bad either.

I can get moar pics later, but it was "fairly" simple. Cut the lip in half, start with the cap at the wheel well, and inset rivet every 6-8 inches. Cut the overlap in the middle (after you've done both sides). Slap some poly resin on the lip for added strength. Let that sit for a day or two. Then come back, put some filler in all the places that you riveted and in the middle. I made a couple brackets along the bottom of the lip, for my own sake. Once it's all filled, etc...prep & paint.

*Note: My body shop guy had most of that stuff, and I just had to help. I paid for the lip, bumper, and for him to paint it.
