The shop believes that it can be repaired but I get the feeling that they think that I am putting them on.
After all the arguing I did about OEM parts, why would I want to have anything (repairs or replacement) done to the original wheel? The whole idea has been to have the only "stock" SRT around. Plus, I have never been careless enough to drag keys or tools against the wheel, no way.
Ziebart has agreed to wait for the 60 day paint period required by the body shop. Reapplication of rustproofing and undercoating is scheduled for Monday.

Here's where I screwed up- I didn't take pics of the old hood so I can't vouch for the stock locations. Anyone who knows what to look for will correctly figure out that I have had a hood replacement since the VIN sticker is missing so I guess that it really doesn't matter now.BlackRoseRacing wrote:are the hood decals in the correct spot?

They look fine to me. They're in the same spot on both hoods:Midnight_Rider wrote:Hey LSP- is BRR correct that the decals might be placed incorrectly?

Okay, I just noticed something while cleaning under the hood for Carlisle. Does anyone know when Chrysler sells new body panels, do they have a "dummy" VIN sticker on the part (meaning a VIN sticker without a VIN number on it)? I just noticed what appears to be a painted-over VIN sticker under the hood on the passenger side so now I'm wondering if the body shop put used parts on my car.

I don't think new replacement parts (hood) come with the emission stickers on them. They would have no idea what year vehicle it was destined for. It would seem a waste.
But it could be a shipping label. (Like what is stuck to the bag, or parts you order) Being on the passenger side, it is possible they were just too lazy to remove it.
Of course the guy who slapped it on, would have had to take time to get it lined up with the hood edge, if it is parallel. I don't see that happening, unless the person is super anal.
A Mopar shipping sticker would be paper also, so the paint would be rougher there, than the shiny emissions label.
I guess we'll see it in a couple a few hours...
Edit:Or are you referring to the thin VIN sticker, maybe 3/8" by about 2.5"?

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.

Dat be da one. It is partially obscured under the "WARNING" sticker that the body shop put after per my request. What I think is a VIN sticker is on the passenger side of the hood, parallel to the edge so care was taken in its placement.occasional demons wrote:Edit:Or are you referring to the thin VIN sticker, maybe 3/8" by about 2.5"?

That is exactly where the VIN sticker is. I remember it was getting worn by the cowl seal on my original hood.
