that's one extremely happy neon....

But, i'm not in any way a fan. I hated my chops, and I don't much like the real life version either

i dont see how cutting that little of the plastic away from the intercooler would make THAT much of a difference :tardbang:

it was 4" or so removed from the top and bottom its only to hold me over until the SRT bumper comes and is painted
and let us not forget we all pretty much drive neons and they are not the most attractive cars at all. So adding a lip and waxing it wont take away from the fact its still a neon.

riiight, but what im saying is that 4" wasnt taking away anything from you...

I think you went a little crazy with the cutting... but I guess if you don't care... more power to you.

yes but there are A LOT of other cars that are uglier than a neon...

I'm not a fan of how it looks at all.... :\ You say you're getting an SRT bumper again?

Neons are plenty attractive IMO. And adding a lip and waxing it doesn't take away from it being a Neon, I think we all know what we drive, but it does improve upon the appearance.

Don't get an SRT bumper, it will ruin the look of your boosted NEON, not NEON SRT-4.

It's a very aggresive look  but I'm glad that you have planned for a crashbar. After my recent experience, I highly recommend one.

Isn't this BFMIC gonna kill your low end? I saw a thread on how you wanted to improve your low end power.

by Addicted2Boost
It greatly improved my top and and didnt really effect my lower end Im going to say i gained at least 35 hp at full boost with this, also i had to cut it to fit our bumpers are not made for BFMICs and the srt one was heat soaked 140 degrees going into my engine is not fun! so i dont really care if it looks like shit It boosts alot better

I may have to cut more or get an srt bumper because it still does not fit correctly but you cant tell from the pics the only other option i had was to go meth kit and im not really into filling it and making sure its not empty

 You should of dynod it before and after. Bigger intercoolers don't gain much power, they help that power last longer. I honestly never had problems with the stock intercooler heat soaking when I had it. I know of a local that went with the MPX 62mm TB and MPX BFMIC, gained 4whp. Probably will help on the top end but might slow the spool down a bit.

My hat's off to you for installing that in the rain, on a muddy ground.

Your car seems to like it! Very happy.

You know, you didn't increase the airflow any with that. What's his face, GunmetalNeon was able to fit a BFMIC behind a stock, uncut bumper. And it looks badass!!

Nice! I actually kinda like it. I'm all for the "fuck the look, lets make this baby scoot" thing. I'm wondering if It'd look better if you put a honeycomb mesh material across the hole?

Posted: Sun Apr 11, 2010 5:11 pm
by DR. GONZO
that would look pretty cool
