Wow. Looks great!

I commend you for even driving like that in MI. I hate driving my car in MI and you're a hell of a lot lower.

Thanks. Nice and slow is key. Knowing what roads I can and cant go down, and hitting bump at an angle also help.

Just BCs, rolled fenders, and pinch welds are cut, folded, and rewelded. The rears are at full low and the fronts can go down another 1/2 inch. But the axles would be hitting the frame permanently.
how do you lift the car with the rear pinches rolled?

I think he's referring to the pinch welds in the wheel wells.

:tardbang:

meaning where the bumper meets the fender ?

i understand rolling the fender. mine are "partially" rolled. i need to rent a roller to get it done completely, i don't have the flow to spend 350US on a roller.

i myself have "trimmed" that lip that sticks out in the wheel house where the bumper meets the fender.

We've all done that. It's just simpler.

What he's referring to is directly above your tire in your wheel well. It's super thin and sticks down probably 1/2" or more. If you rub on it () a lot of times it gauges grooves into the middle of your tires. I'm sure someone on here has photos of them.

What do you mean inner fender wells? The plastic liners? I still run my plastic liners up front.

All I did in the rear is roll the rear fender lips as they where gouging my sidewalls.

In the front I cut, bent, and rewelded the pintch welds directly above the tire.

Some pics:

This is the front pinch weld.

Rear "fender" lip. On top is after and the bottom is before rolling. In doing this you gain about a half inch of more room.

This is what the front pinch weld does to your tire if your dont roll it. This pic was taken last year. Im much lower this year then last.

P.S. When you say full low, do you mean strut body is all the way in, or both the body and the perch adjustment are maxed?

Just the strut body is lowered into the bracket that mounts to the knuckle to the max. I never touched the spring perches as I didnt want to increase the spring rate and running the risk of blowing the valve. I only make sure the spring is snug (maybe less then a 1/8th of a turn from factory), not tight just to prevent rattling.

That's what I figured. I'm in the process of ordering BC's with custom rates, and I plan to basically do exactly what you have. Except I shouldn't have to worry about hitting the pinch welds since the rates are going to be close to 75% stiffer than the stock ones they come with. I'm not gonna go quite that low though, probably a hair taller.

I have a favor to ask. Can you measure the distance from your front fender lip to the center of the wheel center cap for me? I want to get an idea of how much lower yours is than mine as it sits right now. I'd really appreciate it! :)

Good luck. If the coilover isnt in the way it might be easier. But that pinch weld is quite a reinforced area. I said screw the rubber mallet and took a framing hammer to it. It didnt even budge.

^Yeah you pretty much have to notch and roll them. I'm pretty good with a cutoff wheel so I'll probably snip a section out if needed. What was the point in running a bead over it?

Im just a hair under 11.75 inches. Whats yours? lol

I ran a bead of weld just to put back some reinforcement and to seal up the seams. I dont want that area to rust out ( Someting you Cali people dont have to worry about :cussing: ). I also covered it all up with POR 15.

now i understand the front pinch weld. and after driving with the car low today, i have the same tire marking as you, and im not even close to how low you are, but i'm on 225/50r16s. apparently i have some more modding to do. :slap:

edit: alignment came out better than i thought

Front:

Camber:--- Left: -1.9 --- Right: -1.9
Caster:---- Left : 2.9 --- Right: 3.3
Toe:-------- Left: 0.10 --- Right: 0.10

Rear

Camber:---Left: -1.1 --- Right: -1.1
Toe:--------Left: 0.15 --- Right: 0.15

I don't think I can make it any better than that. Any lower and I can't get it on the Alignment rack, unless I find a shop that will let me do my own alignment with a inground.

I'll post a pic after i wash it tonight.

^Damn nice wheels! Not very low though...

I'm at almost exactly 13". So in theory you are 3.25" lower than stock, assuming my springs are the 2" drop they claim. I figure they're probably within 1/8" of that. I think I'm gonna shoot for just under a 3" drop. Maybe 2 7/8" or so. Should be more than safe with the 550/450 springs I'll be getting.

Just had another look at your pictures. If that's 13 inches, i know i'm lower than that. 1 finger gap, on a angle. I was 64 cm BEFORE i lowered it more ( edge of fender to ground ) thats 25 inches. half of that is lower than you now, minus the 3/4 in or so i just dropped it. i will measure how high the pinch weld is off the ground tommorow at work.
