Thanks guys. Sadly this is the lowest I can go. To go any lower I would have to cut the strut towers and raise them. Not something I want to do on a DD partly because I dont think my welding skills are up to the task on such a vital part of the cars structure.

As of right now the CV shafts are about an inch from hitting the "frame" rails. If I break a axle Ill have to notch and channel them.

However I think shes ready for the road trip to SC in June. Goan see my baby sister graduate high school!

Dude, I don't know how you drive around Detroit like that. I was a good inch higher on my coils when I've been there, and got 0wned.

Looks nice though.

Thanks. Nice and slow is key. Knowing what roads I can and cant go down, and hitting bump at an angle also help.

Just BCs, rolled fenders, and pinch welds are cut, folded, and rewelded. The rears are at full low and the fronts can go down another 1/2 inch. But the axles would be hitting the frame permanently.

Yummmmyyyy I wish I could do this shit so hard. You've got 1" on me as far as how close your frame is. 1" easy. I need to get some wheels like that and roll my shit. DUMPED in the Midwest FTW.

Your coils are spun down all the way? Remove one of the lock rings and you can get a 1/4 out of that. Looks great. What size wheel and tire?

+1 I wouldn't be surprised. Even at my height it's damn close.

Rear is all the way down. Front has 1/2" left. Personally I dont feel 1/4" is worth the risk of the coil becoming lose. 205/50/15 Dunlops on 15x7 e.t. 35.

What would the alt rub on? ground? Axle? (goes and checks...)

*EDIT* Nevermind. There is about a 3/4" between the alt and axle. I didnt even know that would be an issue. Thanks for the heads up. Worse comes to worse Ill have to relocate the alt. Either push it back torwads the firewall and get a longer belt or put it where the ac compressor is.

This will be the test. Traveling. The hardest, scariest thing you can do, because for one, you do not know how the roads are being maintained/or know if their are obstacles to which you will eat shit. For example I went to Breezewood, PA, somewhere on I70 I ate it BAD on a bridge lip. It was like a foot high, and 6 inches wide. I hit it HARD, and I was only going 65. Be careful and keep an eye WIDE open dude.

^ Couldn't have said it better myself. I've made several trips in the past year or so and driving in the unexpected is so nerve-racking.

look into a stratus 2.4 front mount. you can get them at the junkyards. it may or may not fit with a mag intake....

or you can do this

Well just like any road trip I carry spare fluids, 2x4's, jack, hand tools, wire, zip ties, duct tape, JB Weld, torque wrench, breaker bar, and a full size spare along with my compact spare.

I bring everything I need to do any kind of work short of an engine swap. Im pretty sure I could swap a clutch and trans with what I carry. Off roading has taught me a lot as far as preparedness goes.

Ive made the trip a few times. Ohio is something to worry about. They are always doing some kind of roadwork with the stupidest detours.

I-75 will be sketchy around downtown Detroit and down river.
I-280 is like I-75.
The Ohio Turnpike is usally pretty smooth. No worries there (except Troopers.)
I-77 all the way to Columbia SC is pretty nice outside Ohio.

I will leave during the morning this time. I usually leave around 9PM, drive through the night, and get there at 9am.

Hybrid- Is that angle bracket raising it or just pushing it back further? And good advice on the 2.4 bracket. Shit I have a 4.5" grinder wheel of death and a welder. I can make anything fit to anything
