I get the distinct impression that's gonna crack. Should've used a urethane to "mold" the urethane lip to the urethane bumper. It'll allow for more flex than filler will.

^^ This. I even used that urethane stuff, and it hold tight, no extra work to the lip, and it acts as though it's part of the bumper. Granted, one good bump with mess up any bumper. Also, I'm not a fan of fully molded stuff. Takes away from the lines and whatnot. It just wont flow with the skirts as it should IMO. Good luck with finishing it.

yeah rob i have to agree with the other guys, if thats bondo being used to mold the lip i'd think again. i've tried bondo on these bumpers and it doesnt cut the shit, it will crack. do like they said with urethane or something, dont want to see you having to do it twice man.

Meh. Touche. I can't remember that exact type of plastic blend that is used on our bumpers, but urethane would be more suitable for the flexible plastic than Bondo.

If most people do it that way, that doesn't make it right... Ideally you should prep the bumper to clean the natural oils off that seep out of the plastic and will decrease adhesion. Then you should molded the lip with some sort of urethane because it is flexible and WON'T crack unless you smash into something. That Bondo on plastic will crack if you look at the the thing the wrong way. Just trying to save you hassle and aggravation.

Ryan, OB is right, oem bumpers are Thermal Plastic Olefin, or TPO. Lord Fusor makes several great products for "problem" plastics such as TPO. bondo will never work in this type of application, the only fillers i would use are fillers made to be flexible like Evercoat PolyFlex, i have some great reading on the subject if anyone wants the links, lots to learn boys, lots to learn
