Fine, I'll be the fed up mod.

Stop bickering back and forth you guys, blah, blah, blah, etc. Oh, wait...it's looks like it's over :-k

Like Adam said, this thread does have some good info. Just don't get carried away folks.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

Hey Lane, ask Tam how nice the roads are here. I'm fairly certain he hadn't ridden but 2 miles in my car when he said "Dude I would NOT be anywhere near slammed on coils if I lived here."

Also, Warrior, I talk like I know everything? Or I talk like I've been through 4 different suspension setups? I don't need pictures of my car in my profile. G'head and check any of my picture posts. They speak for themselves.

I've never seen a 67 year old man or some dude bitchin' about his "oil mechanic" while I had Cheerios stuck to my face get so damn butthurt over an opinion or statement based on hard evidence.

EDIT:

Congrats on the multiquote. Since I've messaged both you AND Laneholt without any responses, I'll tell you here:

You don't type properly. Talking down to someone because they are younger doesn't prove anything, especially when your English is butchered.

You multi-quoted me, and then agreed with me? Either way, what you type isn't coherent @ all. Sorry for misinterpreting it. I was too busy studying in my high chair instead of saying coils suck while I changed oil in some econo-box. Also, I'm in the market for what? Jesus I can't comprehend anything you've written. I understood more when I accidentally sat in on a German class instead of Spanish.

Also, one last bit for reference:

Happy? I'm plenty low, and it's going a bit lower in a week or so. My roads are shit, but neither of you would know. Also, the car ride is comfortable, and I'm on a "cheaper" brand of coils.

Mods, sorry I was a dickback just now, and I guess earlier in this thread. Feel free to suspend me for a week or warn me or whatever. It's cool. If one of these guys would have responded to my messages, it would have been easier. Sorry.
First of all ... your car looks good, although I think Neons need wings and hood scoops to look like "sport compacts" rather than econoboxes.

Secondly ... I'll never fool with your screenname again. As for my age, unless you change your style of written communication, you may never live this long. I don't think you should be suspended, nor do I want to be suspended.

I don't know anything about your educational background. I graduated from college, and became a member of management of a fortune 100 company over 40 years ago. I bought my first "new" Neon in April 2000. So whether you realize it or not, I have some knowledge about these little cars from 10 years experience with them.

We're good dude. I'm currently majoring in Communication & Journalism, so I like to think I know some about writing.

I never doubted your Neon knowledge. I'm just basing my facts of experience with MY Neon.

Also, since you mentioned wings...

Yeah, I talk mad shit sometimes, but it's for what I believe in, and I'll do it online or to someone's face. I hope I can make it to 67 regardless! Hell, hopefully I'll have a career to retire in.

Anyway. . .

I have to admit, that looks great ..... Howell Automotive gives information about using 2000-02 "open top" bumpers so the gap
(SRT-4 hoods are 1"shorter than the standard) is less noticeable. :blob6:

I agree. You can see the gap because of the "open-top" style, but the hood overhangs enough that it looks good.

Also, thanks. The wing is gone now. I couldn't get used to seeing it.

Aww, I missed out on the action!

Lane, he is right. I was riding with him in his car around his town, and those are some of the worse streets I've ever seen in my life! Way worse than New Orleans streets dude.

Glad to see y'all made up. :D

 I'll never understand why either one of you wanted the shorter springs. My 99 R/T and the 05 SRT-4 both ride miserably with stock springs. They both have stiffer suspension than normal. I appreciate the improved handling, but often think the tradeoff isn't worth it. My wife's 09 Dodge Avenger is the opposite (quiet & comfortable) even on our broken streets. :)

Oh man. I'll never let you even sit in my car then. If it helps, Tam rode with my new seats that have about 35k on them, as opposed to my worn out stock seats, which had 155k on them.

Yeah, his new seats were ultra soft and comfy. I could sleep on them easily if I had to. But the shitty roads were just too much, and I still got "butthurt" from it.

Oh well, after seeing those roads, I'm glad that we have our current NOLA street conditions with my moderate drop on springs. :)

^ My coils don't squeak, rattle, or clunk. Plus, I'm fully adjusted. I need to see a chiropracter every few weeks, but other than that I'm good.

i will just say this before i am outta here, why would you need a mechanic to tell you that coils suck/ or have them to installed??

Part of that may be due to the stiffer sway bars. I ended up removing the SRT front sway I had, and putting the SE one back on. It was great for handling, but you could tell whether a dime was "heads or tails" if you ran over it. I have Eibach Pros, so possibly the drop doesn't agree with the SRT sway. Unfortunately, there is little that can be done for endlinks, the way the front is set up.

I never thought about the swaybars having any effect on bumps, just cornering. Would strut tower braces work the same way as the sway bars for magnifying the rough ride?

That I couldn't say for sure. I doubt they would have as much impact if they do.

i got my car lowered 35mm on Spax springs and stock struts and even the tinyest little bump in the road and the suspension bottoms out. I have been looking at changing the struts (maybe Tokico Blues) or just going for coilovers (BC most likely)

will either of these upgrades eliminate the bottoming out or even reduce it or am i wasting my time on trying to stop it bottoming?

I have inquired about the pricey BC coilovers @ Modern Performance and they said that the rebound and the height are adjustable. I guess that means that you wouldn't bottom out.
