My current fun Neon, 1997 Magenta base coupe, paid $600 for it 3 years ago:

Brand new 2.4L Mopar short block, rebuilt head with Crower springs, milled .040", Crane 18's (Crane 12's in picture), AEM 3-bolt cam gears with Jeff's spacers (added recently), AF/X long tube, 2.5" dynomax exhaust w/cutout under driver's seat, MS2, e85.

Lawn mower battery and custom tray I made:

Fun little car, first time at track with stock PCM, kirk header, and Crane 12's:

r/t: .246
60': 2.151
330': 6.141
1/8: 9.434 @ 75.46 mph
1000': 12.259
1/4: 14.665 @ 93.83

2nd time after putting in one of my Mopar PCMs, new suspension (struts and all bushings), and the AF/X header with the 2.5" exhaust I ran a best time of:

60' : 2.205
330' : 6.183
1/8: 9.467 @ 75.96
1000' : 12.259
1/4: 14.638 @ 94.93

Last month I installed my MS2 along with the Crane 18's, adjustable cam gears, installed 37# injectors and e85, and a no-90 intake. Took it to track 2 days after getting it running. Ran a few 14.5's @ 90 mph (gained a 10th, lost almost 5 mph) with 60' times of 2.0x on street tires. Datalog showed I was running 17:1 AFR at 3500 or so, and leaned out to 22:1 at redline. Injector duty cycles were as high as 210%!

Fuel pressure drops down to 20 psi from 49 psi as soon as pump turns off, and the stock pump in the car has around 200k-210k. Walbro 255 and 2nd gen 58 psi regulator. Just pulled the header off to move the wideband down to the collector from cylinder 4 runner.

Sleeper, until I open the cutout and you hear the lope real good

Probably selling the Crane 18's to my buddy for the black ACR we're putting together for him and picking up a set of Crower stage 4's. Shooting for mid-13's on street tires, full interior.

I have 2 2nd gens, but the 2001 R/T is getting parted out, and the 2004 SXT is gonna stay stock.

This is my exact plan for my red car. 13's all motor with full interior and power steering. Then I will be happy.

I yanked the power steering long ago.

Almost forgot, got a set of snowflakes that my buddy is painting. Black on all the spokes, and magenta on the outside, exactly like DOSNeons rims but magenta instead of green. Once I get them back, I'm ordering the widest sticky tires you can buy that'll fit with the wheel spacers I have for up front. Wanna see if I can hit 1.999 or faster 60' on street tires.

You can put 225's on up front with no spacers. I ran 225/50/15 drag radials on my 98 with no spacers.

How wide can I go with spacers? Tires I've been using are either 195's or 205's. Yokohama something, work pretty good but they still spin in 2nd.

Track times are with the 2.4. Back when it was bone stock 2.0 SOHC with 3.55 and ps and a/c in car, best time was a 16.3, which my gf ran. No tach or speedo on that run either, thanks to bad solder joints and Chrysler's idea to not put tachs in 5-speeds. Car had around 200k on it when it was stock.

I welded a new bung on collector of header yesterday, and also switched out the stock fuel pump/regulator with a Walbro 255 and 2g regulator. Now to get the damn MS figured out again, getting the damn laptop on MS to communicate can be a pain in the ass.

That's why I bought it, ever since I first saw a magenta Neon, I wanted to get one and make it fast, just to piss people off. It's getting there, but it's definitely fun listening to people get ragged on for "losing to the pink Neon" :laughing3:

 It's awesome isn't it!!! Gotta love pink neons. I heard that from a guy in a whippled Cobra one day in regard to my car and laughed my ass off.
