I'm not sure; he was talking about manuals mostly. There is a big diffrence between manual and automatic fluid properties. One is meant for gear lubrication, whereas the other is for hydraulic pressure properties.

ATF+4 was using in automatics as opposed to using +3. +4 is better than +3, for automatics.

The info about the NVG-T850 is only for that transmission. Do not put motor oil in your automatic transmission.
