Some pics on a nice day

Post by Tam » Sat Mar 26, 2011 1:38 am

It's been a while since I put up pics. I sold my gold rims and am using the snowflakes now. I can't stand rubber band wheels anymore.

Messy engine bay. Most of the mess is from the HID wiring harness. I recently good NGK plugs, and new wires and coilpack, so I decided to paint the VC. I really need a mag intake in there to tie it all together. lol

+03 wheel swap is cake, Chris. Clockspring, wheel, and bag all pop right in.

Tam, I like where the car is now. Wish that paint was shinier, but hey for $50 it's better than most of the garbage I see on a daily basis.

Your console is the bomb. DCX should have had rear window switches like that factory.

Chris, like Adam said, it's super easy. You should really go for it. The only hard part about it, is that if your steering wheel was never removed before, be prepared to use alot of strenght to pull your ~10 year old steering wheel off.

Adam, thanks mang. I really wish I could afford a real paint job, but I'm digging the flat blue color to be honest. haha.

David, Yeah, those are power window switches, and I think that location is great for them!

Paint still looks awesome, Tam. I actually saw my old neon driving around town the other day and the Rustoleum is still holding up awesome on it.

I'm digging the window switches too. Good place for them.

:-k

I'm not sure what it is, but I'm not digging the flakes on your car. Could be that they seem too tucked in compaired to your old wheels. Maybe if they were spaced out it would look better to me.

Magnum intake. Do it meow :D
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

Yo, flakes don't do it for me either. And should've just put another stock coil pack on .

1: Love the flat blue. Very unique. Beautiful shade.

2: Rear window switches look great. What system are you using? I've been wanting to install electric rear windows for a while...

3: Since I first saw your car, i've wanted to add a year lip to my 02 rear. Love the look.

Dante and Kyle, I also think so too. I might get spacers, but I think I might just get 16"s with 50 series tires somewhere down the road.

Detergent, thank you! :) I'm using a SPAL window kit. They sell them on ebay, and as well as here: Window Kit
And here are the switches that I used with it: Switches
And you should do the rear lip idea if you can't afford an SRT rear bumper like I can't. hahaha

Dan, as I said in the original post, those are HID wires. I might clean it up later, but I'm too lazy. :P

Ahhhhhhhh love it. Idk why I like it so much but I've always liked the look of your car. Maybe cause it just looks clean. When it comes to the engine bay.. yeah mine used to be messy too but then one day I cleaned it up & now it looks like I did a wire tuck whe I didn't. Lol. It also heled that I removed my cruise control so I don't got that box anyore and I plan to find a aftermarket coolant can to get rid of the stock one & make it look more cleaner.

Looking good, but what do you have hooked to the Mustang TB inlet with the black elbow/tubing?

If that is the one that goes behind/under the brake booster, and was connected near the IAC? It needs to be connected to a vacuum source. Or you may get the random twice a year incorrect purge flow CEL/code. I finally plumbed mine back into the manifold vacuum, and haven't had the CEL come on since.

Oh, and nice TB BTW...

They did on the Lebaron GTS coupes, but then those didn't have rear doors.

But the convertibles did have power 1/4 windows. Just saying.

Looks really good and clean. Kind of not sure about the snowflakes maybe some bigger wheels like 16'? This car however is always one of my favorite.

Yeah I agree those wires should be cleaned up.
