Somewhat Stanced :D

Post by OhNoA2.0 » Wed Apr 20, 2011 8:58 am

STANCE!....for the most part lol

Picked up some spacers a few days back. The wheels sit nicely. Now to just get coilovers and an alignment lol

Finally something "stanced" I like! Most of the time people doing this have stretched tires and ridiculous camber and other retarded abortions. Very nice, I like!

That looks great! I need to get my wheels to line up like that. What rims and size spacers did you use?

Not stanced. You still have like 2 fingers of wheel gap anyway.

Looks clean. Also interested in what size you used, and what brand. I remember hearing awhile back that anything over 5mm or something wouldn't work safely without extended wheel studs.

As ar as I know from putting spacers on mine that I needed longer bolts for them. I have 10mm on the back. Longer lug bolts come with spacers when you order the larger sizes.

This.

I was expecting something utterly STUPID looking when I clicked on this thread. I am relieved to see that it's nice and flush with the fenders and has meat on the tires, as wheels should be. :)

And no, this isn't stance because the car is functional. Stance = Form > Function.

I approve.

Whatever u wanna call it, I like it. :D It looks good and handles better. I used 20mm (front) and 25mm (rear). My front pokes just a hair and my rear should sit about the same once I roll my fenders and correct my camber. Once I get my coilovers, it will truly be "Stanced" BUT it will still be function = form :D

glad your putting them to use.. but yeah u wil need to roll fenders to use them being slammed like i was or youll kill the tires and have a blow out..

To roll your fenders without a real roller, you have two options:

Option 1: roll up newspapers and stick them in the wheel wells between the tire and fender. Then have 3-4 of your largest (heaviest) friends jump in the trunk of the car.

Option 2: very carefully use a baseball bat. Here's the best thread/pictures I've seen on how to to it: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthr ... ?t=1777067

ive heard of using telephone books too. as the pages fold over the wheel and give a nice roll.

Looks good when they are flush with the fenders/quarters...

Makes me want to lower mine and add some spacers!

So did you use extended studs and regular spacers or hubcentric spacers? Your scrub radius is smoked with that drastic of a change! How did the spacers affect the handling (specifically)? Some cars handle better with a wider scrub, some don't, so I was just curious.

The are hubcentric, bolt on spacers. It feels more stable in the corners. Im liking them a lot.

What did you pay for those bad boys? Not cheap, but it's the "right" way to do it, so it's probably worth it. Very nice though, I've been considering doing something similar for years now.

^^ yup.. i know from having them on my car and i had the same setup on my old ranger. 1.5" ones and both being wider handling was much nicer and more stable.. when i took the spacers off i felt it..

Post by Alex Kurdian » Thu Apr 21, 2011 10:35 pm

Looks good mate.....spacers here are illegal but alot guys use them...Tyre places here say spacers are dangerous...ie wheels come loose....the spacer gets hot the alloy buckles and causes them to come lose??
I would love my wheels to sit flush it looks kinda rank at the moment but that is something I cannot fix....
