Got my SXT wing wrapped...

Post by red2.4srt » Sun Apr 24, 2011 9:00 pm

Picked up a Graphite Grey SXT wing for my SRT, and had a friend wrap it in 3M Carbon Vinyl. Opinions?

And we had some pretty hellacious rainstorms here lately, poor swamped neon!

Image

And a good one from a day that wasn't raining. Still trying to figure out which wheels to mount up, the 16's or 18's?

I agree with Sam that the work looks good.

However, it looks completely out of place with (seemingly) no other CF on the outside. Add to it that I hate the look of CF and I'd say burn it.

and keep in mind that its not real carbon fiber so it might not even look good with other carbon pieces... you would have to find small pieces and use the same 3M Carbon Vinyl in order to tie it all together.

It was 100$ for product and labor. I have wanted to put my oem trunk back on, since my repainted wingless trunk has a more orange tint to it. I have a carbon ELW lip and fog deletes so it does have some other carbon to mesh with on the car.

@logikfive it's on BC BR's and I'm doing 16's this year with a 225/50R16 tire, so I think lower... ;)

I'm not a fan of real CF and I hate di-noc even more. From far away it looks like a primered mis-matched spoiler. The work quality is amazing, but the end product I'm not a fan of.

needs more di-noc or cf to tie it in together, looks weird with just the spoiler done.

Well guess it's time for you to di-noc cf the hood, deck lid, lip kit... then it will match better I bet.

I actually think that looks pretty damn sweet. Maybe do a couple other things towards the front end. Maybe a CF hood?

I prefer paint matched exterior stuff, but that's just me. A friend of mine wrapped a good amount of his BMW's dash trim in that same material. Looks factory, but with a kick.

Is it protected from the sun and weather in any way?

Thanks guys! It's not protected at all, so we'll see how long it lasts! LOL
