Hate it when these things happen. Glad you're okay. I scanned through the thread pretty quickly just now... Perhaps someone already commented on this, but the "bad sounds" you heard when you moved the car to the side are most likely from the transaxle. The contact looks like it might have punched the passenger side half-shaft INTO the final drive housing (and then likely bounced back out). Was there any fluid on the ground under the car? I mention these things because they obviously add to the list of repairs. And add additional considerations to the idea of whether to repair or not...

Well the axle is for sure dead. There's no doubt about that. Not sure about other internals though...it's possible. I didn't notice any fluids...not from my car at least
But ya...axle be damaged pretty good.

My most heartfelt condolences. I am glad you are ok physically. I was so sad to see the damage to Blackula. Made me weep just a bit. But when I saw the sentra in the background I felt a tiny bit better. Damn girl sentra drivers. I really liked Blackula but maybe you can find a decent SRT for sale. Good luck with the insurance company too.

Still waiting on insurance
Got I call saying the earliest the damage adjuster will be able to talk to me is Tuesday.
I guess all of their people are over in Nebraska dealing with storm damage claims.
So I get to wait a couple more days.
Means I get to beat on this Charger more

Damage adjuster called over the weekend.
Blackula's a total loss.
Surprise!
I was offered $6200.
I'm going to try and get $6500-7000 though.
Tires were less than a month old, which I have receipts for.
And a friend of mine is a mechanic who can draw up an invoice/receipt for my wheels...cause they were BBSs and...they're awesome. And one of them was pretty thrashed...so it wouldn't be worth pulling them off to fix.
No idea what the buy-back price is. I'll find that out tomorrow, I assume, when I finalize everything.
Need to see if I can get another rental as well. I need to go to work and all that... Hopefully it'll be for a couple weeks. Cause once I get the check, I can't just go to Target and buy another car.
Think i'm getting a reasonable amount?
KBB and NADA list my car UNDER $6000

I would love to get that much if my car got totalled. But mine's two years older and not an r/t. But that amount is almost enough for an RX-8, so I say take the money and UPGRAYEDD.

Uh, that's a GOOD amount for a Neon.
Seriously, I'd take it and run.

Okay, I thought so. But two of my friends were expecting me to get $7000 or more.
I had a feeling that was bullshit...so I wanted to double check.
I'm still going to show my receipts to GEICO and maybe see about getting a little more...
I mean after all...the tires WERE brand new.

Kentucky...
Twice as far as I drove for Blackula.
A plane ticket there within a month's notice would be about $250.
Gas for the drive back would be another $250.
Food and...at least one night in a hotel wold be another $50 or so.
I do have friends in St. Louis and Albuquerque though to help split up the drive.
It has gold rims...of what make i'm not sure. Pretty neat looking though. And BC Coilovers. Other than that it's all stock.
Road trips are fun...

Still waiting for my insurance check. Then I get to plan the flight out there. I've never been to Kentucky. Is there a lot of wheat? X3

Delicious delicious bourbon. It's almost worth driving out there just for the bourbon
Bourbon.
Also:
It's on coilovers. That means I can adjust its height, right? I really like the drop of Stage 1 springs. So if I can get the ride quality and look of that with these coilovers, then there's no reason to swap them out, right?
Does anyone have any experience shipping vehicles? I mean, i'm sure a lot of you do. But any input?
If it's going to cost the same amount to ship it as it would flying out and driving it back, i'll just have it shipped.
