My buddy's srt

Post by INVUJerry » Sun Aug 14, 2011 2:48 pm

This is my friend's SRT. It's got a forward motion built block, a ported and polished head, brian crower stage 3 cams, agp 50 trim. The wheels I think are 18x8.5 or 18x9, tires are 265/35/18's. He just got it tuned, on 27PSI it made 465whp and 430 tq. He plans on doing time attack and autocross with it. With the stock motor and the 50 trim kit it went 11.90@122 with a poopy 1.9 60'.

Not sure what brand the flares are but they are for a 240.

I like it minus the fact that I think it needs some black housing headlights with some smoked fogs to complete the red and black look.

Wow fender flares!! they look ridiculous! Would look decent without them.

Without fender flares he'd have an inch or so of poke. I mean, he could get 5-7 degrees of camber and roll his fenders but this car is totally function over form.

I think that if the fender flares tapered down to the side skirts and bumpers as well as being moulded in then it would be jizz worthy!

Reminds me of the MPx track car with those flares. And those tires  beastly. That thing should be a monster on the track.

If he plans to seriously autocross it or time attack with it he's going to run into issues. From a 60 roll in 3rd gear it starts spinning bad, 1st and 2nd are going to be useless lol. I'm going to drive out his way and take it for a spin soon so I'll get pics when I do.

Must. Have. Fender Flares.

I know it's just me, but damn, they'd look sick on black. FFS, I must have them.

Would definitely help. Might also look better if they filled the fenders better and were closer to flush.

Nice car though, interested in how it does on the circuit.

He really likes the utilitarian look that the flares give it.

I really like the over fenders but as mentioned above they should be molded, it would give it a cleaner look

I always loved the rangers with that style fender flare. I suppose why not on a neon?

But on a performance note, that's not an autocross car. For the love of all that is holy, unholy, and just plain indifferent, convince him that his car would be way more at home on a road racing track.

Love just happened. As Sterling Moss said "No car has enough power until I can spin the tires in top gear with out using full throttle" Still he might want to invest in this

He really wants to do Time Attack stuff and road course. It'd be useless on an autocross track.

I think an EBC would do the same thing for him. It's plain silly, even on 23 pounds. I just have to make the 80 mile drive to his house to drive it.

4th and 5th could probably use the full power (thinking back straight at VIR) maybe boost by gear or something of the like.

Your search foo is weak.

That was with a quick 3 minute search. That page shows the flairs in FG, CF, and CK. Enjoy.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

at least he has a decent set of tires.

Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD08.

I also agree that car doesn't belong on an autocross course, stick with road racing or go all out drag racing.
