Fall shoot of the SXT

Post by LilSparkPlug » Tue Nov 15, 2011 2:14 pm

Impromptu photo shoot yesterday when I was making new spoiler gaskets for Nee. Almost done with all the maintenance...for now. I still need to re-do his retros (lenses crazed), repaint his wheels, etc.

Comments welcome :)

This one is my favorite:

I believe she tints hers because of a vision issue

Thanks all! :)

He was just wingless for a few hours while I found a suitable substance to make a new spoiler gasket out of, the water in my trunk when it rained and when I washed him was bothering me. It wasn't an absurd amount but it was enough to bug me. Some angles I liked him without it, most angles I didn't, so it went back on.

The tails I'm actually debating keeping. I've had this debate with myself since I first did them. I'm torn between those and tinted dark cherry stock ones.

My front windshield is tinted 15%, so you are correct in that assumption and it is for a vision issue +1 NEONPARABOLA.

Lucius is lurking in the garage, I just loved how that shot came out. I was test fitting a new Hurst shifter into him but it's too tall to work with my setup so unfortunately he can't use it. Fortunately however....little Nee will probably use it :)

Keep the tails! You know how I don't usually like aftermarket stuff so this is high praise indeed.

Are you going to sub these pics for the calendar?

I love that first shot!!

And why replace the tail lights?? I'm pretty sure they're one of a kind
where as tinted tails are so over played :/

And I really hate to point out imperfections, but is it just me or is
your driver side eyelid shorter than your passenger side?

For what it's worth, I vote for the tinted stockers. While your work on the other tails is great, the strips of yellow in the lamp just really throw off the look for me.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

I second what is your tint rated at??? Here in South Dakota we can go 13% tint and no one will even touch a windshield but when we go see the in-laws :banghead: Im getting a 50% on the windshield should look darker with the 13 all around

Tinted I can do, no wing...I don't think I could do it. I love it too much.

I submitted a bunch already but I could definitely add these if Jason wanted me to. I'll have to email him and ask. As for the tails some days I adore them other days I miss the tinted ones. The lenses on these are far from perfect so they do need some work before I'm super pleased with them I just don't have the time to do it.

Thanks Thane! I wouldn't necessarily replace them I'd switch them up for awhile. They are one of a kind but I just don't "love" them like I "love" tinted stock ones. I'm weird like that I guess. If I can't fix the lens on the passenger side one I may end up tinting these. One eyelid isn't shorter they're both the same size, but they may not be on 100% identically. They're coming off as soon as I re-do the retros anyhow so I can reapply them at a later date. The lenses are so crazed they drive me mad but I'm lacking that thing they call time.

See...this makes me lean more that way than I was initially...that's how I feel sometimes too.

Front windshield is 15%, front two windows: 15%, rear three windows: 2%. The front windshield was SUPPOSED to be 50% (the SRT's front windshield is 50% with the other windows tinted the same as Nee's) and the idiot heard me wrong and thought I said 15. So 15 it is and they refuse to change it. It was hard to adjust to at first, now I adore it.

Thanks hun! Ohhhh he was lurking :) I didn't put him away just yet, it's still nice enough here that he can come out and play every once in awhile.

Rustoleum wheel paint, which I absolutely hate. It's holding up well but I prefer Duplicolor over Rustoleum any day of the week. The paint is chipped in a few areas from tire mounting/removal/re-balancing/run-out fixing which is why I want to fix them.

Tint the headlight lens? :-k I wouldn't think that would be necessary
with the black housing. I love your headlights on both of your cars.
They really put me in 'awe' just the way they are.

Thanks Thane :) I was talking about the taillight lens, the passenger one has a scuff mark and some crazing in the lens. The crazing I can't do anything about but if the scuff (you can see it in the rear picture it's right to the right of the reverse light) doesn't buff out I may tint them lightly. I would never tint the headlight lens, I'm not that tarded
