A new injector cover idea...

Post by supertrick_05 » Fri Jun 29, 2012 1:24 am

Well for those of you who remember my car, I did the "AAR Neon" theme, and made a custom shaved injector cover with a decal designed by myself to capture the air cleaner decal from the AAR 'Cuda.

Well I am not going to do another AAR theme (too played out these days), so I'm going to approach the old-school theme that fits the car...the Challenger R/T. I was trying to find something that I could put on the injector cover of my R/T that would show the 70's throw-back theme, and I came up with this (just a rough chop):

I got the idea from the old "440 Magnum" pie tins on the air cleaner lids...here's an example:

I would definitely have to finalize it and find the right font that looks closer to the original, but I think it could work for my car. Thoughts?[/url]

I like the idea, but it needs...something. Maybe some kind of border around the cover? Something to break up all the orange.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

i think it should be a black cover, with just a square of orange with the text, notice how the older one is a black air cleaner with the orange in the center

Yeah, like I said...it's a rough photochop. I agree it needs something...just not sure what just yet. I'll keep playing around with designs. Thanks for your input guys!

How did you shave the cover and how long did it take you?

Oofta...dremel just sounds like too much work to me, but if it works, more power to ya.
