Sunshine is my quest
Sunshine is my quest
Well, since none of you will see me at Carlisle this year, I'll just post these now.
My new retros. Created from scratch, with the help of Crystal's guidance through the whole process. All-in-all it took me about 10 hours (not including waiting for paint to dry) to complete. Everything except the shroud and turn signal are painted semi-gloss to give it a more 'OEM' appearance. I didn't do demon eyes or halos or painted lenses because I don't need any of that crap. They use Morimoto Mini's with 4300k H1 bulbs, and I gotta say, coming from having xenon on the Audi, these are very nice and VERY crisp. Plus they just look sick as hell.
Old and new
Getting ready for the first test fit
Test fitting them without the lenses
Completed and ready to go on
Completed
And one shitty night shot for good measure
I have a few more photos, but sadly, my laptop died the other day so I'm currently posting this from my work computer. Let me know what you guys think, or if you have questions or any of that stuff.
Looking Good.

very nice... I will be doing some in the next week or so. Question: what, if anything, did you use to reseal the lights.

Thanks, Stacey. Unfortunately, I won't be making another set. I missed all of you, too. Tell Nate I'm super jealous of him meeting Ralph. I'll be there next year.RawkBunny wrote:NICE work Jeff, they look great. Have time to make me a set? :p
P.S. severely disappointed you weren't at Carlisle, we all really missed you!!
Detergent, thanks. You should definitely make/buy a set. They change the whole look of the car.
Speed, OCI Butyl rubber sealer. It's like the rope form of sticky-tack; stuff is amazing. www.theretrofitsource.com sells it in a giant roll.
