haha, yeah whoever said neons have feelings and get jelly... they right! Pulled the silver car out to work on the yellow one and went to tuck her back in a little bit later and "click" dead battery... wtf. she mad. charged it up and let it run for a little bit. Too many short starts for it probably no time to charge up the battery.
Anywhooo, as Jerry alluded to I still I have the silver car... that's still my baby, I could never part with it. I traded the black/red car (I'll miss it... the gas mileage and reliability) plus a little cash for this one. I don't have a ton invested in this car and it has quite a few goodies... but first a few pics. The car is an 03 with 72,000 miles
Oh, did I mention it's Stage 3 too?....
with toys... and an original style Hurst STS
and Stage 2 coils...
first mod... add my trunk carpet. 2nd was swapping clear corners back to amber
book of receipts, s3 install guide, s2 coil literature, lots of stuff
Mod list... as I know it to be:
- drilled slotted rotors (I did the rears today)
- Blitz turbo timer (want to uninstall...)
- 7000k HID kit (uninstalled today)
- BIG front mount
- O.G. Hurst sts
- AEM wideband
- Autometer boost gauge,
- Eagle rods
- ARP head studs
- ACT 6 puck sprung clutch
- Aftermarket pistons (JE?) (receipt doesn't show brand)
- Mopar Stage 2 coilovers
- Mopar Stage 3 kit with Toys
- battery relocation to trunk in box
- Mopar/Borla exhaust
motor was completely rebuilt 15-20k ago, brand new clutch slave cylinder. Needs over all look over and could use a tune, but as long as it doesn't blow up it's a good car. I clay barred it today and the paint is still gorgeous! A few minor scratches, no dents. I'll continue to give it my touch and I need to fix up the headlight wiring where a god forsaken MisterJung HID was wired in back in '03, actually had Hella ballasts though! (I see Jason has/had them too http://www.srtforums.com/forums/f123/my ... com-38690/) Next is undoing that fucking "fog light mod"... why does every neon I buy have to have that done?

@jspata - original owner had the trans replaced under warranty and they replaced it with an 04 trans, i have the receipt. It also has the metal pedals from an 04...
@Crystal - yeah, the rear ones are gone anyway lol. I raised the rear up an inch last night because the saggy diaper look was killing it for me too haha
@Jeff - mwahahaha

Dude what was the previous owner doing to have the trans replaced and the motor rebuilt with such low miles?
But dude, that is sick. S3, rebuilt motor and trans and tasteful performance mods done minus a couple things.
T-bolt clamps for the intake? I also see it has the AGP S3 WGA. Looks like the vacuum line is resting on that hot hard coolant line. Watch out for that. That WGA is a hit or miss. I had better luck with a factory S3 WGA. What are your AFR'S WOT? Stage 3 cars HATE boost leaks and will perform horrible with them. Be sure to pressurize that system and check for leaks. Makes me want to relocate my battery to the trunk too.

Original owner did a lot of work to the car and must've raced it pretty hard... second owner, not sure, 3rd... tore apart, replaced bearings and sold it to me. It's had a hard life but is very clean overall... odd.MyNeonSaysHi wrote:Dude what was the previous owner doing to have the trans replaced and the motor rebuilt with such low miles?

AFRs lean wayyy out on decel or when coasting, it's off the gauge whatever it is... not sure about WOT. You're thinking boost leaks? I need to get it tuned asap or use mmy dsp to add more fuel because it makes me very nervous.
Not sure about the T bolts on the intake but they don't clamp tight enough and the front piece of the pipe is not clamped tightly to the rear...
I'm not a fan of the AGP WGA either. I'd like to get a stock stage 3 one back on there.
I hate that I have to DD it as I know it needs a tune, it's very powerful and it's just so clean.

The S3 PCM does a good job. Usually runs rich at WOT. Like 10's. Low 10's if you have a bad boost leak. Every turbo car owner should have a boost leak tester. Yeah thats normal with going lean on decel... Have you been in srt-4 and watched the wideband on decel? It goes real lean then goes ... Thats if you are in gear and let off the gas. Now if you go in neutral it should move its way to stoich.

I haven't because I never got a high flow cat to mount wideband inMyNeonSaysHi wrote:The S3 PCM does a good job. Usually runs rich at WOT. Like 10's. Low 10's if you have a bad boost leak.
