Spring Bling Clean 2006

Post by kc2005ptgt » Sat Mar 11, 2006 7:13 pm

Ok, so I had lots of time today (like 5 hours!) and decided since we had upper 70's today, I would clean the car. Then Idecided, hey, since I haven't done anything to the interior in a long time, why not just clean the whole thing, from top to bottom? So, I decided to wash her, dry her, wax her, pull out her seats, pull out the trunk stuff, wash it down, dry it, clean it some more, vaccum it, and then put it all back together! Ok, so I am a bit obsessive and moreso compulsive, but DAMN it sure looks good now!

Enjoy!

This is with all the seats removed, the floormats out, and the center console removed and all doors open while cleaning. The wax has already been applied, and the interior is just now ripped out!

Inside with no seats or center console
Image

Inside after I washed everything down and replaced back seat and all trim (also applied the armor all!)
Image

Now, with all seats back in, center console, and everything washed and dried - with armor all too!
Image

These are the final results - tire cleaner, wash, dry, wax... Oh-la-la!

And, after the thread started by OBsxt about debadging, I decided to remove the NEON from the back, and went with the sleek look, I like it much better now!
Image

Word! I do wish I could afford some springs to lower the car and not damage the struts, but right now I can not afford them (I move in 4 days, and I am going part time in less than 6 months so I can finish school). Unfortunately, I have no money for major mods at this time, and unless I come into some money unexpectedly, I doubt I will be modding anything for the next two years or so. We shall see!! So no 4x4 jokes! All other criticism is welcome though. :)

w3rd. I'd have to be hopped up on meth or some shit to do that... Plus, that's what my wife's for... She does a killer job on the inside while I detail the outside. :)

Hey Wisher... When you quote someone's post with pictures, please be kind enough to remove the picture codes so it doesn't repost all of the pics. Thanks. ;)

I live in Pine Grove, about 15/20 minutes from the Airport. Ask him what the name of his housing division is, I bet he is close by (the whole area is being developed). It is all horse and cattle land, now being sold off from the Mormons and bought by huge real estate developers: Pulte is the big one right now.

Thanks for the compliments! I take pride in my car - it is the only thing I own that is of any value whatsoever. I probably started detailing the outside at 1pm, and went inside about 1:45-2pm, then finished at 5pm, so probably close to 3 hours on detailing. I even pulled all the little trim and panel pieces and cleaned, washed, and armor alled each individual piece :) The only reason I can do that is because I am seriously OCD, so it helps a lot. Plus, it is good therapy (so says the doctors ). :):)

See ya! BTW - this is supposed to be an insiration post for all you who live in the "thaw-belt" right now, so get out and spring clean the car! :) ;)

How low do you wanna go? SRT springs are cheap, and I'm also selling a set of Progress lowering springs, they drop the car about 1.8" 's which is a little much for me. I'd probably let'em for go 85shipped.

Dang I really need to do that, since I'm out of school this week for spring break and all. I went to the beach today and yesterday so it's real dirty. I'm probably going back again sometime soon though so I'll just wait to wash it haha : )

That is one clean car! I have the feeling that you will be inspiring most of us to tear everything out of our cars and give them a good cleaning/washing/waxing. Now if the weather would just cooperate..

tinted tails - actually, not the best job - I need to take them back off, sand em really good (AGAIN) and then clear coat them once more - it has a wave in driver side and the passenger side is lighter. I figure some good ole 600-800 grit for a minute or two and then some 1000-2000 for that clean finish, then the clear coats. Oh well, I am too lazy and it is now too cold to do that - wait till maybe later spring. :)

Hehe - I got lots of people asking me to do theirs too neighbors, family, wife...) ;)
