How hard would it be to make fog light delete panels for a SRT front bumper cover? Something like the CBD fog light trim panel overlays, but for covering up the foglight holes. I'd would buy a set if you could.

just so you know, there is someone making those on srtforums, (he's just starting out, but i've seen it them few days ago and they looked primo) except they are plastic and say SRT... cant remember the price but they were quite cheap... i guess i could ask him about that... they'd be quite cheap to ship to me and back to him... we'll seelethalp1mp wrote:How hard would it be to make fog light delete panels for a SRT front bumper cover? No way in hell I'm using my show cars part to make molds, which is why I would indeed need their parts.rice_eater wrote:
no not about that, about other things in general... and i said we're both gonna share a laugh, at eachother... like sorry, but if you're trained by kaminari, you should know that you dont need people to send in parts to be laminated, you can pull the ones off your car, wax them and simply make a new part that you can pry off the original![]()

bought a new CLEAR epoxy resin, and used what i had just learned from teh first epoxy i bought and the results speak for themselves...my problem was the resin all along

problems are fixed, i'm going camping for a couple days, but come tuesday i think i'm finally gonna oppen up shop
i'm gonna put one more layer of epoxy on this sucker tonight, and by tumorrow it should be glass smooth and shinny as heck... YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY
1: hard plastic flat pannel just like the CBD one, for something really cheap like $40-$50, maybe even less....
2: i add filler and mold the flat lip into the bumper, and make a mold from that, to get something very similar to the kaminari, for hopefully about 200, though i havent had time to see about how much material

i'm not, just not sure what to say... definately, it'll go up all along the bottom of the chin, just like the kaminary; the cutout was more to get the shape right, so after i can make the same thing out of strong plastic.... that way two options will be available:TNK wrote:y u gotta ignore my post!

not knocking, just loks a little dull, and it seems to still have some texture, maybe another coat, and try the plastic idea?rice_eater wrote:i guess i'll have to clearcoat and polish it thenlambostealth wrote:the fibers are glistening, but it seems to have a matte finish.

well it looks dull in the earlier pictures coz of bad lighting... yeah the trunk does need another coat of epoxy (did 4 but kept squeeging them down to build up the resin slowly),and then the clear with a cut polish, but i'm excited about how shinny and clear it looks already... from upclose it doesnt look dull at all, so i'm off to work on that polish

Does look a "little" better in those pics, but I think one more coat with a couple layers of clear, cut-'n-buff, and I think I may be buyin one, lol
heres a pic of one I made with leftover carbon fiber three years ago......this was about my fifth attempt.....it has about 7 layers of resin, 4 clearcoats, and a nice cut and buff, looks like glass.

EDIT: found a closup

i would think its a matter of how you tape them down, and how thick the tape is... the interior ones i made, i gave out to local guys, and they had no complaints about the fit... the advantage with the interior stuff is that the rubber surround covers all around the interior pillars, so there is no way for you to see the tape, even if a 2 year old stuck it on; as a matter of fact, the rubber is tight enough that you dont even have to use tape if you dont want to.... i'll probably do eventually make the outside ones too, but right now i wanna finish some parts and polish them up real nice too, so people wouldnt be so shy and actually order something

Do yourself a favor and set up a NO-BS pricing list in a new thread.
I will be buying a trunk laminate, I was worried that my subs would destroy a fiberglass/CF trunk, so after I sold my trunks I made, I just never put another one on, an overlay would be IDEAL for me.
I will send you a full sponsorship proposal......give me your email addy......plus, if you can turn this stuff around in under two weeks, I can hook you up with a distributorship......PM me for details if you are interested.

i really should... i've been afraid this stuff wont come out right, and been hesitating to do so until i have something properly finished, and i can prove to myself that i wont end up screwing people over and have to refund everyone their money....lambostealth wrote:Do yourself a favor and set up a NO-BS pricing list in a new thread.
i apreciate it man, but at the moment i'm still living off my previous savings, and hopefully i can get this off the ground before that all runs out, so i can keep this all in my namelambostealth wrote: I will send you a full sponsorship proposal......give me your email addy......plus, if you can turn this stuff around in under two weeks, I can hook you up with a distributorship......PM me for details if you are interested.

Devote most of your time to the 2nd gen Neon pleeeeeaaasssse. Don't let them turn you to the darkside!.... This early.
I was gonna say, since you are out of canada its gonna cost an arm an a leg for shipping. If you can offer a cf hood for $400 shipped I will be down for that.

shipping is a lot less now than you'd think, especially with the really weak US dollar... i recieve a lot of my material from the states and i dont pay that much for shipping, but yeah, i want to ship at least 10 of each at a time to save ppl money, because the laminations can stack up on top of eachother and not take that much room..... for example, the trunk lid skinns will fit at least 10-15 in the space/weight of 1 full trunk, coz they stack up almost perfect on top of eachother.... distributors usually need their cut too, so i'd much rather if down the road, you guys and others got group buys together instead... at the same time, the interior trim isnt that voluminous and it weighs next to nothing so shipping on those cant be more than 10-15
