not too sure, but i'll definately take care of those on my two favorite forums, this, and our local SRT club

i'll probably sell these for $60US to you guys, $80-$100 everywhere else....

this has actually been a dream of mine for a good year or so, and in my plan, this stuff will take off into a side business and will help me finance my future plans, of actually building cars

if you have suggestion, i'm eager to hear them... as long as you give me a little time, i can probably do most of the interior quite easily... like i mentioned, i wanna work on actual "usefull" parts too like fenders, a CF roof for competition cars and maybe a "floor", for those hardcore draggers htat cut out the bottom floor of the car in the back seat and trunk, and replace it with a sheet of aluminum; i'll have to do a lot of smaller parts like these in order to finance those kinds of bigger projects, but i'm in no hurry
glad you guys are liking these, i didnt expect such quick interest

I know its probably a bit much but like i said in an earlier post, id love a CF center console. A custom one that was an inch or two higher would be ideal, to get the car to have more of a sports car feeling interior. maybe incorporate some guage/LCD cutouts where the cupholder area is too. hehe i know its prob a lot of work but ive always thought the neon had a minivan sort of feel cuz the seats are high and the console is low. I like the interiors of cars like the s2000 and 350z where everything is right there, and the shifter only sticks out like 3" instead of 8!
good luck on the company, be sure to come up with a cool brand name that we can brag about when showing off all our custom CF goods!

what do you mean by center dash? is it not already included in this kit?
http://www.carbonbydesign.com/proddetai ... dash%5Fkit
see what i mean about "easy parts".... they basically looked at everything that's semi flat and simply copied it; i'm not criticizing, i actually think its a very smart business move, for a company who's main focus is mostly completely unrelated to cars.

thanks

no worries, you're the third one "decided" on a set of these so you're safe... i'm gonna start off another 2 sets of these tonight, because i know some people are sitting on the fence first to see how they look all glosy and shinny at the end

i think $60/pair is fair for everyone, and i'll try to get as many done as possible before i head to europe on the first, since a couple of you told me you have upcoming shows you need these for; have no fear though, i'll only be gone for 2 weeks and once back i'll obviously keep making these or others if there is still interest; thanks again guys, much apreciated

exactly, except a bit higher and retaining the basic shape of the stock one. Think of a sports car, where the center is actually above the seatline instead of even/below it.

check out this link, kinda a close quarters cockpit feel. it would prob be more trouble than its worth considering the ebrake and shifter positions, but i think the result would be amazing if done right!

SURPRISE!!!! i went all out on this one, and i'm trying to make the mounting points and the part itself all at once... couldnt use all of them, but i think i have enough support for the bumper... i'm still on the fence on what to back it up with, wether to go full carbon, or use some S2 fiberglass which they claim has pretty much the same properties, and is supposed to be the new rave in the current low CF market... regardless, hope you guys like it

All this CF work is great. So you are gonna do the same thing carbonbydesign is doing with the console kits.. theres is $280 plus shipping, how much will yours be? Be same quality? I will be your customer if you can sell this stuff cheaper @ same quality. Also, that cf fender looks wicked. But for some reason. a CF fender would look funny on a Neon IMO. Unless it was black.

i doubt i'd have the patience to trace out all those annoying little parts they cover in their kit, but i'm sure in time i'll find other interior pieces to work with... its insane that they charge so damn much for that stuff though, coz i bet they can make at least a couple sets out of half a yard of cloth, worth about $20, and for their work time and other materials like resin, they charge another $260
imo, the CF market is HUGE, and because there are so few suppliers, these guys are making a killing off us. have you checked how much howell wants for their CF fenders? if i remember right, they retail for like $600 EACH.... that's fawking insane!! if i do make these, i'll sell them for $400-$450 per PAIR, and believe me, that'll still leave tons of profit

i think that's a bit more realistic, instead of paying $1200 to shed 20 lbs... i got a buddy who'll be helping me P/T from now on on this stuff, so i can keep up with making this stuff, while still working on new parts too... i'm gonna hold off on buying a vaccuum bagger for now, till i start a business, coz i wanna be able to write it off for taxes

I say u should only make shit that CBD doesnt, that way its unique and exclusive, guaranteeing more business and making you even more legendary in the 2gn world! haha
shit looks great though man. for that expensive junk like fenders u should only make them to order, cuz i doubt ull sell many of em, even tho that price is fair, its still hella coin. id love some if i was a thousandaire. hahajk
anyways keep it up and keep us posted, ill think up some ideas for sure. this is awesome i love CF and now we have a potential custom CF part man! sweeet

exactly my plan! i dont want to be a direct competitor to them and clearly undercut them... their stuff is top notch, and they have long provided great services for us... luckily, they havent caught on to those rear pillars, and to them fenders are too hard; i think that if people are willing to pay hundreds of dollars for a trunk, there'll be enough nutters out there who race their cars and could use all the weight savings they can get... besides, SRT owners have deep pockets
i know what you mean about this stuff still being quite expensive when you add it all up, so i'm thinking of ordering a big roll of that S2 fiberglass with my next CF order... there are plenty of fenders and crap out there out of FG already so i wont bother with that, but if someone wants to trade some weight for price, then one outer layer of cf and 2 of FG backing is a really good alternative from what i've read

oh btw, some CF door panels would be incredible, AND provide weight loss. I think like u in terms of performance as well as aesthetics, rather than just the latter like nearly everyone else. what exactly is that in the latest pics its hard to tell.

its for my 96, the red car you see in the background

i've long been looking for ways to shed even more weight from it, now that the whole interior is stripped, but couldnt find fenders for sale anywhere for it.... and the ones i did find seemed questionable; if it turns out good, i'll definately do some for the 2gn/srt fenfers... those look even simpler to mount
2003silverneonsxt wrote:im in desperate need of a cf trunk to match my hood

i would, but shipping the trunk to me and then me shipping it back would probably cost enough to not justify this at all... if you really want though, i can probably make a skin for you to wrap around
