2002 ACR: Project Log - Engine Build Started - pg. 9

Post by kc2005ptgt » Wed Mar 28, 2007 11:35 am

Well, I have been so much miniature modding that I decided to move it myself to the project log... This way, I can keep track of all the crap I am wanting to do, and also get some good feedback from you all. Here it is!!!

Not much to look at, but I like it alot better now... I removed the car grill I had installed almost a year ago for a more clean look again, and plus since the fog holes are bare, it makes the whole front look right again.

Image

And here is my new little 20$ DIY Catch Can... I like it, its not bad and looks good right where it is at under the hood. Questions, please ask!

I also installed the booger bushings I got almost a month ago.

Image

Along with the Injen Fuse Panel Cover I got from CgPeon (thanks for deal bro!)

Image

Here is the most recent shot of engine bay with the hood liner removed and the cables hidden:

Image

Here are the rear seats removed, this makes the car extremely noisy inside now

Image
Image

I also moved my trunk popper from the glove box to the driveside kick panel near the hood release... It looks stock, as did the other people who saw it said... this was not easy to figure out how to do, but once I got it out it was merely a matter of finding a good place for it.

Image

Installed the antenna delete plug I got from BRR (thanks!!)

Image
Image

Painted the reverse light red to match the rest of the taillights:

Also installed brand new stock floor mats in the car, baby! Yeah, I know, not that cool, but these things are damn nice! Much better quality than the ones in my car before  They came from menloveparts.com

Image

And finally, I did it, I made my cigarette lighter the starter - I also wrote up a How-To for it - http://forum.2gn.org/viewtopic.php?t=18 ... er+starter, and I am very pleased. I kept screwing up trying to start it normal, and it really messes with me when I am in a hurry!

Im thinking crank scraper/windage tray (maybe just the scraper) and/or cat delete - just have to talk to my muffler guy - once I make up my mind, I will do one or the other when I change my oil - - we will see.

It was not hard to do, but getting the button out of the hole w/o knowing how it went in was what took so long. Take out your glove box, stick your hand up in there (squeeze in there!) and you have to pinch down on both sides and push out. Then just drill a hole on the other side or wherever you want it and extend the wires. Takes about 10 minutes with no problems. :D

car looks GREAT. but you need to do SOMETHIGN abotu those clear corners.. they kinda break up the new fresh look... maybe a set of stockers with some orange front turn signals?

Sweet, those wheels look really good! I say paint your side markers red with the same stuff you used for the taillights.....just an idea.

I wonder what yellow front lights (instead of clear with yellow bulbs) and yellow side markers would look like.... chop anyone?

You have an SRT hood, that doesn't make it an SRT. Therefore, the sideskirts don't make it an RT.

All you ACR guys put your side skirts on! :D

Also, here are orange corners and orange turn signals on a red 1gn.

And here are orange corners and orange turn signals on a 2gn, but not red.

I think ACR's look weird without sideskirts, I hate that my car didn't come with the rt sides. I think putting side skirts on does not make my car any less of an ACR.

I'll decide once I mock it up. After that I'll probably drop them off at paint.

I think that the ACR looks good with or w/o the skirts, but I have always wanted the sides on my car and the srt spoiler, even when a lot of people said no way, and I love them both  So, you know... I will post up updates next week, hopefully.

Now, if I bought the RT fog lights (which is ANOTHER item I want ) would that make it look like an RT even more so??

Well, since I am waiting for paint to finish on the sides (Thanks again Dave!! You ) I went out and replaced my turn signal bulbs with the Silverstar ones - I couldn't stand the orange glow it gave off when lights were off, just looked out of place IMO. So, now I have a FAINT blue glow in place of it, but it still looks 100% better!!! I like the look!! Enjoy! Oh yeah, and I am sticking with the clear sides and front now instead... do not feel like painting the turn signal lense!!

I used grill/stove paint from walmart to do mine. I also used it on my brake calipers.
