If you belong to the facebook group you probably heard. The neon is limping along barley. First started with a suspected missfire friday. After inspection of the plugs and wires I found oil in the spark plug tubes. A lot in cylindar 2 and 3. I also got an CEL saying missfire in cylinder 2. I changed the plugs and the valve gasket. I was able to almost complete my 80miles round trip commute to work today when the car started skipping again and then on a steep down hill it just shut off on me while i was coasting it in neutral. It would start and then shut off within 10seconds and then it wouldn't start at all. I asked my gf's dad who lived close by to take a look. by the time he got there I was able to run the car again. I drove it to his place and it didn't skip.
I replaced the ignition coil tonight but it kept skipping with no CELs. I drove it home and finally it skipped so bad it threw a CEL (P0340(M) No Cam Signal At PCM No fuel sync
). Looks like its telling me the camshaft position sensor may be the culpret now? I hope so. Updates soon to follow. The other possible culprets are the PCM and or Fuel pump. I already swapped some relays and that didn't change anything. Along with swaping plug wires.

Glad to hear!

As for the K Frame keep and eye on ebay, there have been several clean SRT-4/neon ones pop up recently for reasonable prices. This is the cheapest one can find right now

I can get one for like $100 locally but I don't have the tools todo a job that big. I got estimates for around $700 in labor.

With Kevin doing these Syked ECU's now.....are the AFX units from Howell Automotive defunct? I wish I still had the AFxR ecu from my 2000, it would be cool to send it to Kevin and have him dyno run his ECU vs the AFX. I bet his is better.

Kevin At Syked Ecu - that's what he is listed as.

quicksilver- I believe he posted a calibration vs. a legit afx and his was a little better. As far as AFX, most of them were fake including the one I shelled out $450 for. so am very happy to have the real deal.

Interesting. That 7800 rpm redline is awesome with a cam installed.

^ yes OMG it is. I passed someone today going 65mph in 2nd gear. yup that was a first. I think it was about 7300rpm. If these came out earlier I would have sprang for a crane 14 long ago.

So, since my friend has not come through with painting my SRT this year I am still DDing the neon. Thus a new K-frame and control arms go on this week. Prothane bushings are already installed on my spare arms. I also armour coated them so they won't rust (hopefully).

old one out and ready for the junk heap! new hotness SRT 4 03 k-frame in with new control arms and mostly all new bolts. Prothane bushings and new srt4 sway-bar bushings also. Just need an alignment and new coil-overs installed. She's still way out of wack but noticeably different with the new LCA bushings. The energy bushings lasted 80,000 miles!

You'll like them. I know you're worried about salt, just give them a wipe down once every couple of weeks. REALLY helps with salt and water buildup on stuff.

those Mopars are INOX metal... whatever the fuck that means... but they are not supposed to corrode and seize up like all the other "cheap" ones do.

not worried about the strut bodies. MY BCs survived 5 winters. I am worried about the springs. The springs on my BCs and NEX coils lasted about 1yr before they started showing surface rust.

Got ya. Well if/when that happens just yank them and have them sandblasted and powder coated again. My SRT has Mopar coils and is driven in winter and the springs are fine.

That looks awesome! Also looking to replace my K frame and LCA's before this year is over (already found someone to powdercoat the K frame :D). I hope that you like the Mopar coilovers as much as I do mine.

They do ride very nicely for a DD car. I didn't like the dampening/spring match on the BCs. I miss my NEX coils to be honest. They had better handling (higher spring rates) than the Mopar coils but the dampening was adjusted just rite for ride quality.

A litttle update. sorry for the dirty car but I was able to finally finish my front lip repair and re-install it. The front lip got torn off in a large puddle last fall, broke in two and i rand over one side. I managed to fiberglass it back together and repaint it. Its now on there good and it ain't coming off! BTW new tires too!

Thanks shawn!

The hood was sprayed with a base and clear. Transtar base ( a paint shop mixed it and put it in rattle cans for me) and I used Duplicolor Wheel clearcoat.
I used dupilcolor base and duplicolor wheel clearcoat for the front lip.

Hmm I may have to try that clear coat out. When I painted my lip kit I used the dduplicolor spray can which matches but I couldn't get the duplicolor clear coat to lay on thick enough. Now I do need to Redo my hood so I may try that wheel clear coat and if doesn't lay on thick enough then I'll just have to buy the spray gun stuff. I didn't want to busy out my spray gun but might have too.

yeah its tough to get a thick coat. you need 3-4 good coats with your first being a tack light coat.
