UPDATE

Finally got the loctite-soaked bolts out of the flywheel, and the stuck bolt out of the oil pump using a torch and an air wrench. I currently have it bolted to the engine stand, but still connected to the hoist with all the weight resting on the stand over night, just to test if it will hold up. Tomorrow I'll be able to disconnect it from the hoist and check out the internals.

KrackstaR wrote:^ dont quote me on this but i belive upgrading the pistons and rings, i know there is more but it starts upgrading the internals, talk to evilcreations or brad (refect), but i figured since your gonna end up tearing into the motor might as well build it up ready for more power.
it's pretty impossible to beat the value for money of the srt pistons/rods though... they're like 300-350 with everything, while aftermarket stuff will cost you over 1000

lol I can always expect the most intelligent answers from Andrew.

Does it look very bad? It does to me, but I haven't seen the inside of a block before.

Honestly, I am not sure, would have to see in person, but for here it looks ok... wait for the REAL engine guru's to chime in though. I am a n00b.

Do they make low compression pistons for SRT-4s, or is the stock compression like 8.5:1 ?

Those parts get me excited.
reminds me of when I put together my 4G63t. LOTS of mopar boxes laying around.

I'm watching this thread. Good Luck!

So the shop is honing the cylinders to the spec of the pistons you bought, I assume?
Looks like you are making progress.

Wow I haven't updated this in a while. I've been collecting parts and storing them until I get the engine back. So far I have bought:

Clutch Masters FX400 (Stage IV)
Fidanza 95-05 Aluminum Flywheel
MPx 3 inch O2 Housing

are you going to upgrade the turbo after you get it back or are you just keeping the stock one on there?

Well the turbo / exhaust manifold is still in my garage, but I'm not sure if it will work. It doesn't spin as freely as it should, and I'll need to inspect it for damage. I was thinking about just buying a whole new one since I'm doing this much already, but I haven't decided on that yet. There is sooo much stuff to buy... garrrrr. :cussing:

Okay, I'm thinking about buying the Hahn 20G turbo next, along with the MPx 3" single exit exhaust. That's the plan anyway, just have to wait for the good ol tax refund.
