Redoing the neon
Well sometime last year around this date i ordered the small Bear Claw latches & plates for my back doors. I'm finally able to get them installed now. I'm looking at them trying to figure which one be left & right. I get one mounted to a plate & i try to mount the other one & guess what............i have 2 of the same plates & it matters for left & right

the last pic i posted is of the passenger side.............im working on the drive side since the passenger side is against the wall & i have limited room over there. once i complete the front suspension, i will roll the neon outside to complete the other door. tonite i should have a pic of the driver side tub where the striker bolt is & i will also post a pic of trhe door shut. the latches i am using are by autoloc & they are mini bear claw latches. they are much smaller than the standard bear claw latches

Dan I have the my doors shaved too, but I chose not to use the poppers.... I used the solenoids and it will unlatch the door then I can open them There really wasn't a good place to install the actuall poppers.. I think that I would prefer having my windows roll down to oped the doors, but then if its raining, then that would be a problem....

lol thats funny im actually tryin to figure out how to make my windows roll down with my keyless entry also. i tinkered with it a little yesterday. this is what i found out on the dirver side window button the all blue wire is the ground and the white with blue line wire is the positive to make it go down, thats all i found out last night cuz it was gettin too dark to work on it. but ill figure more out when it stops raining. thats how im doin it. oh and u know when u hit ur unlock or lock button u only get breif power, im not sure how far its gonna rollthe window down since it just gets a short burst of power. may have to hit it a couple of times to get low enough. unless uv figured a way to hit it once and drop it all the way with one hit? if so let me know cuz thats what im tryin to do. hey and u never answered about the chrome knobs.
So today im working on my front end suspension, taking measurements & trying to figure things out. The way im designing my upper control arm brackets is going to make me lose Power Steering. The Bar Support that goes from the firewall to the core support is where the Honda UCA will be mounted. The problem is on the passenger side. The Bar is in line with the power steering pulley & the front Mid Motor Mount Plate that the power steering bolts to. This also means i wont have the upper mount, which i had already planned to scrap anyways. Now i have to modify that front cover & scrap the power steering. Oh well its all worth having the only neon on the ground!!

You modifying all that to get the front to lay? I thought the front was all the way down. Or is it binding? Either way you need to get that thing operation again so you can enjoy it.LaidNeon wrote:So today im working on my front end suspension, taking measurements & trying to figure things out. I made the necessary modifications to the hub mount so that it wouldn't conflict with the UCA & the Bag Plate. I also went ahead & welded the bag plate on got everything ready to start mocking up the rest of the front suspension. while i was doing all that, My boy was busy cutting out the Passenger Side Strut Tower. Tomorrow i gotta go by the Metal Yard to pick up some more Round Bar & i have to go to Pasadena Trailer to pick up a Tandem Axle Trailer Fender for the front end. Here's a few more pics too BTW

It tucks Rim now in the front!! Haha thats cause it goes much lower than before. It goes almost 1.5" Past the bottom of the body. But thats also without the CVs mounted up

now that is low! it would be sweet if you drove over one of those mechanic pits so you were able to drop the body below ground level/wheels, if that makes sense. those would be some awesome pics!
i can't wait to see this done. it is gonna be amazing. nice work so far.

it hasn't been done since you got it to lay frame, has it? i might be mixing up the details but i thought it was bagged before and then you decided you wanted it lower so you went with the cantilever and other custom suspension components...?LaidNeon wrote:it was done once before, im just redoing it so i can drive it. but i just decided to throw in some extra goodies along the way lol

They call it PMS because Mad Cow Disease was already taken!
I Have Camber in the front. I plan on upgrading my stock honda control arms to some aftermarket ones that have the camber adjustments on them.sxxxt wrote:hows the camber? do u think u'll have any problem with that or did u get it pretty lined up. its gonna be awsome to see whn its done. and are u done with the bak supsention? not sure if u did anything differnt. and give us a estamated due date lol.
As for the rear end, its still the same cantilever design i did last year. Only i have changed the cantilever bars to allow camber adjustment

Hopefully by the end of the sunday it will be ready for. If not, some time next week. The Car will not be completely done till next year sometime. I'm hoping to be driving it by June or July. By the end of this year the car should be just about done. I'm hoping to have the WHOLE interior redone for the '09 Show Season.
