You haven't properly "unveiled" your car yet... and its hidden behind some black monstrosity....Danteneon wrote:I think my sign gets more complements than my car does!

That is regular 5.8" heater hose. I had 10' of it but used maybe 7 or 8'. I just cut it to length once I was sure it would clear everything and no be too long. I still need to trim a little off one of the lines.
Thanks for the complement

If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

So John, let me get this straight, you really haven't done much to Chtear since we last touched base.
Seriously now...... WOW. The last thing I remember was that you had changed the timing belt and things didn't really go all that well. Now fast forward and look at everything that has been done. Very tasteful and well pulled off, I might add. And yet your sig is as old as mine is. I think it's about time you update!

A small but important update. I had hoped to make this change before Carlisle but the package didn't show up before we left.
As anyone who had to follow behind me will attest, my brake lamps were pretty pathetic during the day, and only mediocre at night. That is due to the standard LED bulbs the lamps came with. In crystal clear lenses they would be fine, but not on the ones I am using. So a change was needed...badly!
Sorry for the crap pics. My camera is ill equipped to take these kinds of shots!
This is what I had in the lamps...

And here is what I bought...

60 Tower LED. Big difference!
Old LED

New LED

The difference from a distance

Needless to say, these bulbs are much more visible in all situations. The last thing I want is to be rear ended by someone who couldn't see my brake lamps!
And since I was doing the outers, I figured I should match the center (the MPx lamp came with a painted red 194 bulb).

25 Tower LED Again, big difference!
After

All together now...

So the moral of this story is...spend a bit and get good lighting
Another change that I unveiled at Carlisle was this...

RB1 baby! It was a big help getting everywhere this weekend. And since I now have my Zune interfaced with it, I can have my tunes and nav at the same time
Last but not least. For those of you that didn't make it out to Carlisle, I wanted to let you know that Chtear took the honor of 2GN 1st place modified. I was really very surprised because there were many cars in attendance that were better modified IMO, but I am honored beyond words. Thanks to all of you for making this such a great event!

how much was that tower LED?
I like that idea as the rear light for a drag car. i was thinking of setting up 3 or 4 and making a box to mount them, but this would be so much easier.

ouch
so the 25 tower seems like a good way to go. it would be cheaper to do 3 or 4 bulbs than 1 60 tower.

it would go in a third brake housing, however it will more than likely be on a 1GN, 2GN's are too expensive for budget drag cars.
i plan to make delete panels for the rear tail lights to save weight and so i can sell the housings.

I guess its more for the selling factor than the weight factor.
